the society's reasoning on the book of daniel gets pretty thin in on chapter 15............it jumps from the time of the romans under aurelian, all the way to britain, germany, etc.
within one verse.. jesus applied daniel 11: 31 to the time of the roman siege and the destruction of jerusalem....but of course the society adds to this and includes an entire modern fulfillment which requires a large amount of "faith" in their interpretation.. none of the events they talk about in chapter 15 are reflected in any meaningful way in daniel's prophecy...........i get the impression even our conductor is just going through the motions on this chapter.. the logic gets better in verse 43 of chapter 11............regarding the "treasures of egypt, the libyans, and the ethiopians..............and trying to apply this to our time.. have any of you been enjoying the daniel book?
THAT BOOK made me realize for the first time what a bunch of kooks there were in Brooklyn. Not that I didn't have issues before, but THAT BOOK just did me in. I threw mine in the trash finally and never want to see it again! I would have to take truckloads of drugs such as tranquilizers, antidepressents, anti-convulsion meds, etc. (you get the picture) to ever sit through the study of it again!!!

Your son is like a breath of fresh air! He has a terrific personality and I think he will go far in life. It's hard to believe he's 17 yrs old...his wisdom is far beyond his years.
As a 5th generation JW, the best advice I can offer is: Don't let any organization come between you and your son. Both of my sons left the JW religion in their teens and I don't blame them at all. As a mother I can tell you that no elder or organization was ever going to tell me not to speak or contact or love my own sons! Most animals show more love than that!
My husband died and I can't tell you what a comfort it was to have them in my life. There is NOTHING that can replace that bond! I found it best not to tell the "friends" at the KH about my relationship with them and no one has ever said a word. It's really none of their business.
I hope you keep decide to keep your loving relationship with Ritchie and wish your family the best.

i have successfully used paypal for several years, selling and buying things on ebay.
all of a sudden, paypal became a menace and decided o freeze my funds.
i investigated, since i could not get a response from ebay or paypal to my satisfaction.

so i think it was thursday i decided to make a huge pot of my little sisters favorite soup for her... when i went to drop it off at their house, well, they werent home, so i left it there with a note just saying hi to her and my mom, and that i miss them and love them... which is probably a shot at my dad who, well you know what i think of him.... i was quite perturbed because i did not receive a phone call or anything to acknowledge that they had received it... so i was a little worried that my father had found it and ripped up my note and thown the soup away... i know it sounds stupid, but i made the soup for my sister, and i mean, i guess it was just to show her how much she means to me... i guess i could have bought her some kind of present, but i dunno, making something seemed right at the time..... so anyways, finally today i get home from school and find a note under my door... they had both come to visit and they left me a note... well my mom wrote a quick note saying they had visited and were sorry they missed me and thanks so much for the soup and for bringing it to them and showing that i do miss them.... she wishes she had been able to see me... my sister wrote me a letter, and left it under my door as well... she wrote on the enveloppe she wanted to give it to me, but was sad she couldnt see me... she says shell call.... this wouldnt be such a big deal, but its the first contact ive had with her in three months or so... i mean, ive called and left messages, but i dont know if any of them even get to her... this little girl means the world to me... and i havent been able to see her in months.... it isnt fair.... so here i am sitting by the phone, thinking of calling in sick to work, just so i can speak to her, i dont want to miss her call... .
i feel so alone right now, and i just dont know.... im pathetic i know, but i miss her so much..... the infamous one
I'm so glad to hear that you have FEELINGS!!! After what you have been through, it's amazing! That was really sweet what you did for your sister and she'll always remember it. You need to feel good about yourself and getting your education...who knows, you may get a knock on the door from your sis one day needing a place to stay....

I think most XJW's tend to be left leaning because of 1 of 2 reasons.
Reason#1, Most XJW's as JW's tended not to be as well educated, and took blue collar jobs. The Democratic party tends to give a message of sticking up for the "little guy".
