i don't know if its coming down from the impossible high of the aposta bbq weekend or just hormones but i feel horrible today.
all last night i tossed and turned unable to sleep - i felt like i was going through a series of hallucinations rather than dreams.
i kept hearing voices - really sharp right up in my ear.

i have noticed that, in general, there is a "core" of regular posters on jwd that have been members for several years.. however, it seems the vast majority of "newbies" disappear after a couple posts, days or perhaps a week.
how many "welcome" or "introduction" .
threads have we had here where the new member disappears within a day or so, never to post again?
It definitely is addictive and time consuming!!! I seem to post more in the winter...when spring and summer come along, I tend to spend more time outdoors and away from the computer. I too read for about 2 years before ever posting!!! I was in the process of fading and had too many family members still in to risk being DF'd. Now my immediate family is out and so far I've successfully faded.
It's a real discovery process for anyone leaving to find out what is the real truth and how much they've been lied too. Also, some have to come to terms with whether they even believe the Bible and want to remain a Christian or if they even have a belief system left anymore. There are a lot of choices to make and maybe they just pursue other avenues to reach their goals. I'm sure we all wish them well on their journey....

my god, there's going to be so many - so rather than spam the board, i'll put them all here... any help appreciated.. .
what is the best mobile phone (cell phone) to buy when you arrive in the us that has coverage right from the east to west coast and central regions?
the phone itself will get ditched after the trip, i just need one that's cheap to use.
Sorry to hear that you can't drive in NYC...I love it! I roll down my windows and yell at all the cabbies and just keep blowing my car horn and see how close I can get without scraping the paint off the rental car!!! There is so much to see and do in NY...hope you plan on taking in a Broadway play...that's always neat!
Niagara Falls are awesome, but the town is such a tourist trap!!! You'd have more fun to go on to Toronto!
I love Florida...all of it!!! Ft. Lauderdale has wonderful beaches! Miami...Coconut Grove has some exciting night life...probably see a few movie stars. Just ask at your hotel and they may be able to tell you who is in town and where they hang out...All the stars have houses in Miami now!!! I love to fly to Miami and drive to Key West...that is an awesome (but long) and beautiful drive!!!!! (I love Key West!) Orlando has so many things to do...it's hard to decide...Going to Sea World is a great experience, if you've never been. Taking in Epcot Center at Disney World is fantastic also. (You can do that in a day, if you walk fast and the lines aren't too long!) Be sure to take an airboat ride when you get to the Everglades!
You'll love the Grand Canyon!!! Be sure to go to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas...read up on it before you go. Also, the Mirage, where Seigfried and Roy had their show...they still have the white tigers on display there(I think)...the hotels are awesome to tour!!! You should see what shows are going on during the dates of your visit as you might need to book in advance if interested.
When I was in LA, I would just head to Hollywood and see what famous people I could spot!!! Several times, I was able to watch movie scenes being shot in some of the local hotels and would always get to see some very famous stars! They have tour maps of movie star homes, if you are interested in that. Of course, you have to go to Rodeo Drive!!! (Just to say you've been there!)
Sounds like a great trip whatever you do....just remember that the drivers here are not that courteous anymore and you have to be prepared for that!!! The roads are crowded and everyone is in a hurry to go nowhere! I think that in almost all states that you can make a right turn on red after stopping and yielding. Most states have a law that when raining you have to turn on your headlights! You have to wear your safety belt.
Hope that helps somewhat!!! Have a great trip!

Top Nasa Scientist Says He's Being Silenced on Global Warming
Jan. 29, 2006 —
A top government scientist is speaking out about what he says is an effort to keep him quiet about global warming.NASA's chief climate scientist James Hansen says the space agency's backlash is part of a Bush administration effort aimed at those trying to sound the alarm on climate change.
He says the administration tried to silence him after he gave a speech last month with this warning: "We're getting very close to a tipping point in the climate system. If we don't get off our 'business as usual' scenario and begin to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, we're going to get big climate changes."
Hansen says threats from NASA officials came only by phone, with nothing in writing.
"One threat was relayed to me that there would be 'dire consequences — not specified,'" he told ABC News.
In December, ABC News' "Good Morning America" reported NASA's announcement, linking the record high temperatures of 2005 to greenhouse gas emissions.
Said Hansen, "When 'Good Morning America' released our data showing that 2005 was probably the warmest year on record, I got calls that they were very unhappy."
NASA today issued a statement, saying its policies are similar to those of "any other federal agency, corporation or news organization" in requiring any NASA employee to "coordinate (any statements) with the Office of Public Affairs. No exceptions."
Over the past year, a growing number of American scientists who study global warming have been complaining about the federal government's efforts to silence or alter their reports or to discourage them.
Many climate scientists say the Bush administration's policy, which asks businesses to cut greenhouse gases voluntarily, simply won't work.
Hansen says NASA's stated mission includes protecting the planet, and he will continue to speak out.
ABC News' Bill Blakemore filed this report for "World News Tonight."
when my husband and i left the org back in sept. i felt that i had to tell my closest girl friend the reasons why we are no longer going to meetings.
we sat down with her while her husband was out of town and told her many things we had discovered.
so was so disturbed by this she couldnt wait for her husband to get home and share the "new light" with him.
Great story!!! Thanks for posting!!!

Please pass this on to any woman you know... A new scam is being pulled
on women mainly in broad daylight. What happens is that when the
intended victim stops at a traffic light, an almost NUDE, good looking,
tanned, muscled young man comes up to her car and pretends to wash the
windshield…. While he is doing this, another young, handsome athletic
man opens the back door of the car, jumps in and insists the woman drive
off with him to some lonely spot, where he has his way with her….
They are very good at this… They got me three times Friday and five

couldn't find them on Sunday.
well gang, let me tell you a little bit about what is going on in my world.
for about the past 2 years i've gone through all the formations and as many of you have known from reading my posts i've pretty much have moved way beyond the watchtower in my mind many months ago.
coming to this board has helped with the process much, as well as getting my hands on alot of good reading material.
Would it help if you went to different elders and asked them to explain from the scriptures, certain beliefs, such as 607...have your info ready and bring up the fallacies recently outlined here...record their different answers? Do this on different topics, with different elders and let her hear the responses you get. Most JW's can't imagine how rude the elders can be!!! Most have no idea how badly you can be treated when you go in that little back room!!! (Just be sure to get a GOOD recording device so as to help cut down on static! You could even call them on the phone and have your answering machine on!)

P.S. I think the idea presented earlier on finding out from your wife what it would take to make her realize it's not the "truth" would be the ticket you needed to pursue this further. You would know how to proceed....
farmer john lived on a quiet rural highway.
but, as time went by, the traffic .
slowly built up at an alarming rate.
Farmer John lived on a quiet rural highway.
But, as time went by, the traffic
Slowly built up at an alarming rate.
The traffic was so heavy and so fast that his
Chickens were being run over at a rate of three to six a day.
So one day Farmer John called the sheriff's office
And said, "You've got to do something about all
Of these people driving so fast and killing all of my chickens."
"What do you want me to do?" asked the sheriff.
"I don't care, just do something about those crazy drivers!"
So the next day he had the county workers
Go out and erected a sign that said:
SLOW:
SCHOOL CROSSING
Three days later Farmer John called the sheriff
And said, "You've got to do something about these drivers.
The 'school crossing' sign seems to make them go even faster."
So, again, the sheriff sends out the county
Workers and they put up a new sign:
SLOW:
CHILDREN AT PLAY
That really sped them up. So Farmer John called
And called and called every day for three weeks.
Finally, he asked the sheriff, "Your signs are
Doing no good. Can I put up my own sign?"
The sheriff told him, "Sure thing, put up your own sign."
He was going to let the Farmer John do just about
Anything in order to get him to stop calling everyday to complain.
The sheriff got no more calls from Farmer John.
Three weeks later, curiosity go the best of the
Sheriff and he decided to give Farmer John a call.
"How's the problem with those drivers.
Did you put up your sign?"
"Oh, I sure did. And not one chicken has been
Killed since then. I've got to go. I'm very busy."
He hung up the phone.
The sheriff was really curious now and he thought to
Himself, "I'd better go out there and take a
Look at that sign... It might be something that
WE could use to slow down drivers..."
So the sheriff drove out to Farmer John's house,
And his jaw dropped the moment he saw the sign.
It was spray-painted on a sheet of wood:
NUDIST COLONY
Go slow and watch out for chicks!!
