WT admits they have added to the "Good News" that Jesus preached
by rockhound ini was looking over some of the archives in "the best of" section of jwd and found some very important quotes of the watchtower that may be of use to all.
keep in mind the warning in galations 1: 6-9 .
6 i marvel that you are being so quickly removed from the one who called you with christs undeserved kindness over to another sort of good news.

A case of "Monkey see, Monkey do"?
by rockhound indoes any of this sound a little familiar?
from childhood the irish have been taught that every religion in the world is opposed to their religion, that theirs is the only one having divine right to exist, that all other religions are merely tolerated and that they continue through the benevolent sufferance of the catholic clergy.
they are taught that bible knowledge is not necessary for christians, only a strict adherence to and belief in the church and its religious leaders is all-important.

"No one will be so foolish..."
by rockhound inthe following was found in an article ( jws and necromancy) by ken raines.
http://www.premier1.net/~raines/necromancy.html.
i found rutherford's comment in 1934 to be a major conflict with the present watchtower teaching about the 24 elders communicating somehow with brooklyn today.. on page 144 of the finished mystery they again stated their belief that the now "spirit being" c. t. russell was directing their work from beyond the grave:.

They say "What does it really matter"
by rockhound in"can't you just forget all that old stuff and put it all behind you?
" "what does that really matter, new light has cleared all that up.
" "all that was before brother russell was enlightened" "if your researching all that stuff about russell, then don't waste you time" .

Russell's opinion about the "Signs" opposite of what's said today
by rockhound inwhat about the "composite sign" that the society says is so much a part of matthew 24, mark 13, and luke 21?
this sign is said to include world wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes and increasing lawlessness...most jehovah's witnesses would be surprised to know that c. t. russell held exactly the opposite opinion to what the organization holds today.. [r596 : page 1] .

A little hypocrisy "Watchtower style"
by rockhound inabout 2 months ago my jw sister informed me that she had decided to disfellowship my wife and i. she used 1john 2:19 as a scriptural reference, and the sept.15,1981 watchtower article on disfellowshipping to support her charge.
my reply to her was quite lengthly, but i thought some at this site might be able to benefit from this part of my response.. in your letter to( wife) and i, you applyed 1john 2:19 to us and gave as a reference the following watchtower article to show us why you had decided that "i will treat you as a disfellowshipped persons", because "by deliberately rejecting the faith and beliefs of jehovah's witness" we are evidently guilty as paragraph 14 below of "renouncing his standing as a christian".
*** w81 9/15 p. 23 disfellowshiping?how to view it ***.

To Serve, or NOT to Serve, That is the Question!
by rockhound inthere seems to be much interest and discussion on the prophecy of jeremiah and whether the message he delivered was one about jerusalem's desolation, or about the servitude of jerusalem and all the nations all around it, to babylon.
was jeremiah's message about the 70 years, a message of total desolation, for just the jews in jerusalem and judah, or was the 70 years a message about babylon's time as a world power?
babylon was used by jehovah, for punishing his wayward people and then at the end of babylons appointed time, she also was punished by jehovah.. it is doubtful that the average witness has actually taken the time to sit down and read the book of jeremiah.

"This thing called Love"
by rockhound in"this thing called love" has surely proven to be an elusive thing, to put your finger on.
in an organization who "equates disagreement with disloyalty" it seems that almost every one in the congregation down deep is harboring something that they disagree with about the organization, but they know better than to let anyone know, except their closest friends, and even then their words are well chosen and spoken in guarded terms.
"please don't repeat what i just said to anybody" is the usual caution.
