He was on Fox and Friends yesterday morning and what I found was funny was that he was on his way to a cigarette break when he got stuck in the elevator and he had 3 cigarettes on him the whole time and did not smoke one while he was trapped inside.

Is anybody out there....
by wings in....that is not sure if you believe in god?
i envy those of you who have moved through this space.

I'm there as well wings. I don't know what I believe except that I refuse to belong to any church or religion because IMO they are all man made. I don't think there is anyone who is getting it right and if there is a god, he's probably mighty pissed at all of them for twisting religion to fit their own means. If there is not a church or religion out there that I can agree with completely, why bother. That is what I don't understand about my H, he insists that JW is the one true religion but as soon as I point out the hypocricy, he is quick to tell me, "Oh well, you have that in ALL religions" It just all confuses the hell out of me.

FRIDAY AT LAST...............TGIF
by nomoreguilt ini just thought it might be interesting to see what everyone has planned for the weekend.
tonight is our last night of our mixed doubles bowling league.
we get the money for the how we did this past season, ach, that's ok. .

Wow, nmg, that is quite an ambitious weekend you have planned! Sounds like you appreciate not having to spend time in the mind numbing meeting, I can appreciate that!
We will probably be attending the "Testical Festival" this weekend. It takes place locally every year, the last Saturday in April and they fry up tons of pig and bull balls from the spring castrations. I know it sound gross, but people wait in line for these things and they are free since they are not FDA approved. I for one do not partake, I only go to drink beer and listen to the band...the festival motto is "Have yourself a ball!" Have a great weekend everyone!

Major announcements are not made on Sundays! (Reality check)
by restrangled inlets get a few things straight........ major announcements are never major announcements.. announcements are never made on a sunday and would most likely be in the km handout and covered by a talk assigned to someone most likely unable to speak publicly.. the book studies are the least likely to get axed, because we all know this is the forum to remain during the time period when religion will be banned in the u.s. and the witnesses come under persecution.. so will everyone please calm down, this is worse than the witnesses just before 1975.. r..

Right you are restrangled, what I think is utterly fabulous is that my MIl and her dingy sister will get to the hall a half and hour earlier than normal that sunday so they can get a good seat for the big anouncement... ROTFLOL!

Need help disassociating
by Lo inhi, i am 19 and from ireland.
i have been studying the bible with jws for more than a year, and enough is enough.
i simply decided i don't want to be answerable to a human organisation like that who like to think they have the answers that they simply cannot have.

Congratulations on getting out now. I did the same thing you did, studied for about a year and the more I learned the more uneasy I became. I have a son with alot of problems and I couldn't see raising him in that religion. They bring alot of problems unto themselves and it makes me so sick and guilty feeling that I subjected my son to as much of it as I did. You are young... you will make other friends, and believe me, they won't want much to do with you when they find out you don't share all of their beliefs...but don't be glum you can hang with us kool kats, TotH and I are a little pale, but don't let us scare you, Ha ha!

I would bet there are way more active JW's who just lurk and do not post even though they are supposed to stay away from these type of websites.

I'm always right....ALWAYS! and you are wrong!
by odie67 inmy husband tells me that i act as if i can never be wrong, i always have an answer for everything...everything!
....that i'm always pointing the finger at the next person and that i also have the "i'm a victim" attitude.
he thinks it's my upbringing as a jw.

HI O67, I am glad to see from your previous posts you are enjoying the comraderie we share... welcome! Regarding your question, I have experienced this with my husband, although I think it's a combination of him having such and overbearing, controlling and intrusive mother as well as being raised JW. He has never been baptized and does not go to meetings but he still insists they are the only true religion. In other areas of our life, I can tell you that when I have an idea, say for instance how to decorate the house, he always has a better idea. I usually go along with him just to keep the peace, but it is very annoying and I have started challenging him on things that mean alot to me. I will say to him, "why do we always have to do everything YOUR way? Just because my ideas are different doesn't make them wrong or inferior." He denies being that way though....
