Island Man No they don't. I have asked several JWs about their belief in animal immortality, and not one of them has said that. Each of them told me roughly the same thing: they don't know. Some leaned toward your belief, but most leaned toward believing they would be reunited with their deceased pets in paradise. But not a single one of them were certain of anything.
If the Bible is to be believed (and I emphasize if), God will give us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). Many of us would naturally desire to be reunited with our pets. Following that logic, our animal companions will be resurrected along with us.

If I Became a JW, Could I Have My Cat on Paradise Earth?

i wouldn't mind if he slept through eternity (he sleeps most of the time anyway).
i'd just like to be able to move him around occasionally.

Did leaving the "Org" ruin scary movies for you?
by jeanniebeanzz inmany 'scary' movies base their 'jumps' on a belief in the supernatural, demons etc.
since i have left that all behind, ther aren't many 'scary' movies that even make me uncomfortable let alone scared.
lol.

How could it? I never believed in most of the things that terrified me in horror movies in the first place. It's called willing suspension of disbelief. That's what allows you to experience horror, joy, heartbreak, etc. through a completely fictional experience.
BTW why should exiting the cult equal not believing in supernatural forces? Not everyone leaves for that reason. Many of us still believe in ghosts, gods, angels, demons and what have you.

The insanity continues
by FedUpJW inas if anymore proof were needed that what used to be the religion i was baptized into has ceased to exist i was asked this insane question, when i mentioned to a jdub that someone i knew was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
are they witnesses?".
i didn't used to really think about that insane question in the past, but now that i have woke up to ttatt it is glaringly obvious that they think there can be no chance of actually knowing and getting along with anyone outside their tiny circle of conditional friends.

Wayward That doesn't make sense, claiming non-JWs won't survive Armageddon. Every single JW I have ever known has told me that everyone will be resurrected, even the very worst of humanity, because our own death absolves us of our sins, and that we will all be tested one final time by Satan after the thousand-year reign of Jesus in paradise has made us all perfect. If we choose Satan's side then, we will be destroyed forever.

Gefangene What?! That makes no sense, not even for a JW! In what bass-ackwards world is it okay to want to bring someone into "the truth" so they can "live forever on paradise earth" without even being their friend? You want to share good things with those you care about; when you grow to care about someone, whether intentionally or not, they become your - say it with me - friend.
I know JWs are likely to try to twist this logic around to save face, but really, what sense does it make? I honestly want to know how they can say JWs should not befriend worldly people, yet claim to want to share the oh-so-wonderful "truth" with them. They're pretty much defying their own logic here, if you ask me. :/ -

Adult survivor of sexual abuse as a child
by life is to short ini showed the video from the midweek meeting of september 12th to my counselor to get her take on it.
she said that it clearly was a propaganda video and was appalled that it was shown to an audience that had small children in it.
she said that they could have been way more generic in their way of portraying the women as having been abused.. the subject of sexual abuse and the way the video zeroed in on it would have small children asking questions that really did not need to be addressed.

Latest News on Oetzi
by LoveUniHateExams ini vaguely remember when the 5,000 year old mummy was first discovered in sept 1991. i was twelve.
he was quickly given the name 'oetzi' because he was found in the oetztaler alps.. my granddad had a book about it and after he died, i took his book home with me.. apparently, some scientists believe that oetzi died from an arrow shot and a blow to the head.. interesting.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3795815/25-years-europe-s-oldest-human-mummy-alps-scientists-say-amazed-learning-5-300-year-old-corpse.html .

I was 10 when Oetzi was discovered. The following year, when I started middle school (sixth grade), there was already a documentary on him and they showed it in one of my classes. I still remember it pretty vividly, considering that was 25 years ago.

Formatting issues
by bikerchic inhow do i turn off the formatting when i use the quote button?.
when i want to start a new paragraph and can't get out of the quote section?.
that made it worse, help!
-
Nevuela
I want to know how to turn ON formatting for the quote feature! I copy/paste something, then use the quote button, but nothing. I've tried highlighting the pasted passage first, I've tried clicking on the quote button both before and after the passage, etc. Everything I can think of, but it never appears in a yellow box like everyone else's quotes. And I'm not on a mobile device. I'm on a regular desktop PC.

May 22 1969 Awake!
by zeb in"if you are a young person you need to face the fact you will never grow old in this system of things.. why not?
because all the evidence in fulfilment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years...as a young person you will never fulfil any career that this system offers".

darkspilver - You're calling Zeb out for what? He was not even remotely rude or deceptive in any way, shape or form. You DO know what it means to call a person out, right?
