Those who DO NOT get a resurrection?

so we know that by jw logic, the idea is that everyone who dies is acquitted of their sin and will get a resurrection in the "new world".

however, those directly destroyed by god, or at his command will not.

(for example, those destroyed in the flood.

I've never gotten a clear answer on what part of the Bible is supposed to back up their claim that Adam and Eve won't be resurrected. Something about them being perfect already and therefore their sins were automatically unforgivable, which doesn't make a lick of sense because:

1. Nowhere in the Bible does it specifically say that Adam and Eve won't come back. There is only a vague, roundabout suggestion based on an interpretation of another scripture entirely, and we all know how JWs like to cherry pick vague scripture to apply to something seemingly unrelated, or do the opposite and insist that a scripture MUST be very specific or else it cannot be applied,

and

2. How on earth can a perfect person be capable of sin in the first place? Committing a sin, even intentionally, seems like the polar opposite of perfection. In what exact way were Adam and Eve "perfect"? Because it certainly wasn't in the judgment department, that's for sure.

Not sure how that's a Freudian slip. Do you think he was subconsciously implying that some are expected to die AFTER Armageddon? Like, after the thousand-year reign when Satan is allowed one more chance to tempt us? Because that was already to be expected, wasn't it?

hi, first time posting.i got out about 10 years ago, but only beginning to reconcile with my trauma from being raised as a witness.

i am a professional writer, and never wanted my body of work to be prefaced -- 'oh the writer who broke free from being a jw,' but i've started the last year to now write about my experiences.

another reason i have held back is many of the victims in my family are still of the faith, and i've grappled with it is not entirely my story to tell or expose.context: the sexual abuse cover-up with my family goes back to the 50's over three generations of girls in a large extended family all raised as witnesses at the hands of an uncle, and protected by the elder body, ca, da, ontario branch of bethel, ny and so on.i grew up in a culture where the girls in my family would go 'off the deep end' at ages 16/17, and kept waiting to grow up for my turn to 'go crazy', which did happen at age 17 when i had my first manic phase and left the org for about two years.

i think most witnesses are simple minded.many are ignorant.

there are a lot of basically "good people "in the religion but i believe many are kind of dumb, including many elders.

How can any of you people be right-leaning after your experiences in the borg? Did you learn nothing from the oppression you suffered under? It doesn't take much research to learn that conservatives opposed nearly every single freedom that we are lucky enough to take for granted these days. And no, I am not saying conservatives haven't made positive contributions as well, because they have. However, it's a proven fact that the left has done far more good than bad. Kindly stop judging an entire group of people based on a very small percentage the media focuses on.

Hollywood messed up another one

i am a big superhero fan and was looking forward to "the defenders".

the first two episodes are great but then ... liberalism happens.

one of the heroes (luke cage, big black guy) goes on this crazy rant, like a liberals wet dream of the bravehearth speech.

1. The creators of the show can do whatever they please. If you want a show without a message or moral, there are far more without one than with. Or go make your own.

2. Before you complain about liberals, please Google "liberal achievements opposed by conservatives," and then ask yourself why you would even want to be a conservative after that. Nearly everything you have to be thankful for in the US was a liberal cause that conservatives did everything in their power to oppose.

Just Offended A JW Cart Witness Without Even Trying

on my way into town from my office.

two carts set up a few feet from each other.

one manned by a man and woman (i assume they're a couple) in their late 30s.. the guys walks off to the other cart as im walking by, i wasn't going to approach but the woman holding the awake!

Why didn't you stand up for her? You walked away allowing him to believe it's okay to treat a woman like an underling, and worse, you allowed her to go on believing that she was inferior to the Almighty Penis. You could have shown her that "worldly" people have more respect for her gender than her "brothers."
