I was 10 when Oetzi was discovered. The following year, when I started middle school (sixth grade), there was already a documentary on him and they showed it in one of my classes. I still remember it pretty vividly, considering that was 25 years ago.

Latest News on Oetzi
by LoveUniHateExams ini vaguely remember when the 5,000 year old mummy was first discovered in sept 1991. i was twelve.
he was quickly given the name 'oetzi' because he was found in the oetztaler alps.. my granddad had a book about it and after he died, i took his book home with me.. apparently, some scientists believe that oetzi died from an arrow shot and a blow to the head.. interesting.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3795815/25-years-europe-s-oldest-human-mummy-alps-scientists-say-amazed-learning-5-300-year-old-corpse.html .

Formatting issues
by bikerchic inhow do i turn off the formatting when i use the quote button?.
when i want to start a new paragraph and can't get out of the quote section?.
that made it worse, help!
-

I want to know how to turn ON formatting for the quote feature! I copy/paste something, then use the quote button, but nothing. I've tried highlighting the pasted passage first, I've tried clicking on the quote button both before and after the passage, etc. Everything I can think of, but it never appears in a yellow box like everyone else's quotes. And I'm not on a mobile device. I'm on a regular desktop PC.

May 22 1969 Awake!
by zeb in"if you are a young person you need to face the fact you will never grow old in this system of things.. why not?
because all the evidence in fulfilment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years...as a young person you will never fulfil any career that this system offers".
may 22 awake!

darkspilver - You're calling Zeb out for what? He was not even remotely rude or deceptive in any way, shape or form. You DO know what it means to call a person out, right?

Were YOU forced into a loveless marriage?
by Nathan Natas inmany young jw women are "married off" to virtual strangers, often older men, soon after they are of legal age.. did this happen to you?.
did it happen to a close friend or sibling?.
tell us about it.. from universal life ministries on facebook:.

Nathan, your comment to Listener was completely uncalled for. He asked a perfectly reasonable question, and you were rude in response. Your reply says a lot more about you than his innocent question does about him.

After 52 years a Watchtower slave 9/11 gave me the push I needed to get out.
by new boy ini turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18, 2001 but it was 9/11 that showed me what the witnesses really feel about human lives and the future wished for.. i was in limbo after my wife of 27 years left me on july 30, 2001. she knew i wasn't buying the jw program anymore.
she told me she come back to me when "i got my head straighten out about god and the church".. so for 40 days i was in limbo.
i stopped going to meetings.

My anointed roommate has told me on numerous occasions that God will be resurrecting EVERYONE, even Hitler. The reasoning is that, as per Scripture, death absolves everyone of their sins, and that Satan's final testing of mankind after the thousand years of paradise will reveal who will live forever and who will be destroyed. Anyone choosing to follow Satan then will be destroyed along with him, because after a thousand years, we're all supposed to achieve perfection, so for a perfect being to choose evil, there is no hope for them.
So I really don't get all this insanity I hear all over the place about JW's believing billions will be destroyed at Armageddon. That completely contradicts what my roommate (and various other JW's I've known) has told me. -

Oh man, if I were you, Wayward, I would have been sorely tempted to call my mom up today and say "I thought the Great Tribulation was only supposed to last seven years? And I distinctly recall you telling me 9/11 was the beginning of the end... fifteen years ago!"
(Apologies if your mom is no longer alive. I lost mine back in '09) -

So my husband got a letter
by Lost his mind inso, he received a letter that i am wondering if it is one of those open letters that are out there to denote time given.
it starts out with the name of the person sending it, then goes into the spiel...do you know our god's name?
when i was shown what it is, i kind of got upset.

You said you should have stated that "it" was a woman's name, but you don't state what "it" is. Who had a woman's name? God?

LMAO it's called offing yourself, not topping yourself. Topping oneself means masturbation. Around these parts, at least.

"You catch more flies with jam than you do with vinegar."
Wow, Landy, your hypocrisy never fails to amaze me. You were inexcusably rude from your very first interaction with me on this site, and here you have the audacity to preach to someone else about how they should treat their daughter. Wow. Just wow. -

The fact that you are so sure that there is "nothing supernatural" in the world means you're an atheist, not an agnostic. Agnostics still believe in the POSSIBILITY that there is a God. They just don't believe anyone can know for sure either way.
Oh, and Wiccans don't necessarily believe in a God or any spirit creatures. Some do, some don't. It is a nature-based religion more than anything else. And their spells are not about conjuring magic, because they know it is not possible. Their "spells" are merely a ritualistic form of prayer, hardly different from the Catholics with their holy water and incense.
