Can't be a dfing offense because an elder on the podium joked about slipping pocket change into the slots on a trip to vegas after he got drunk. Everyone laughted and nothing happend. I think they only DF you for a gambling addiction, appearing to gamble frequently, or your gambling stumbling others. They probally will mark you. I mean look at drunkeness when is the last time you ever seen anyone DFed for drunkeness.

Gambling
by onacruse intalked with a friend this afternoon, and an interesting hypocrisy was pointed out to me:.
the wts strongly discourages gambling with money (i think it's still a dfing offense), but they're more than willing to tell people things that make you gamble with your life.. and when you lose that gamble: if it's just money that you lost, they say "what did you expect?
" if it's 'just' a big piece of your life that you lost, on their advice, they diss it off as it's "new light" or "we never actually said that.

Two Elders Stopped By

unsuccessful at reaching me in my home (mostly because i don't answer the doorbell when they come) they saw me outside and decided to stop to talk.
the conversation did not go especially well.

Gary JWs if able do those kind of stunts. You are allowed to count the time, return visit, and it is more exciting.
If they let normal jws study with dfed people instead of just the elders the system would collapse. You know what. Thats a really great idea. I would not be suprised if the european pressure builds too much they dig up the "Old light" of allowing a JW to study with a dfed person. They are right now allow the person to sit silent or say things that the family is suppose to ignore if they live with you.

if the wtbs is going to be THE authority over jw's then they are going to have to rein in some of this hateful thinking of elders.
The watchtower is only the "authority" over the COs and DOs. THey could care less about the elders. They just keep printing those "quit beating the sheep" memo's and watchtowers that the elders throw in the circular file after they finish reading them.
BTW I only really attend the sunday meetings and nobody really seems to care. As long as you never put your self on the school they really forget about you. Maybe the brother was not lieing.

The watchtower can't just change it is a corporation. To admitt you are wrong or accept resposibility is to accept liabilty.
The watchtower decided to use archaic blood classifications (red,white,plasma,platelete) and ban them. This allows JWs to 100% of modern fractionated blood based medical products. I only see 3rd world JWs getting screwed, but they should be used to it.
It is like those amish Ordnung that allow the use of battery powered devices (such as cell phones). Considering now days every device can be battery powered it is not much of a technology ban.
The ban on blood is finally over. Has been for a while slowly grinding a head, but this latest installment allows everything to be used. If a JW felt like it they could get rid of their blood cards, and DPAs.

It is amazing how people can claim JWs is a pedophile paradise that is acceptable. Claim the watchtower is playing both sides of the blood game and that is an insult to their integrity. XQ's---how do YOU know what JWs "secretly" do? You can only surmise. Your comparison of the WTBS and JWs is like saying the KKK is different from the KKK klansmen. Thats like asking KKK klansmen "How do you know what KKK Klansmen do in secret? You can only surmise."

Maybe you should ask how many people look the other way and how many people are secretly transfused.
The children dying is a PR campaign started by the watchtower now used by critics. If you knew what HLS really does you would see the hypocracy. It is a game. Those people dieing are victims of circumstance. If jws had true integrity supported by the watchtower on abstaining from blood I would believe you, but they don't.
The watchtower will provide a lawyer to sheild them and sell you out. You get your kid taken from you the kid gets blood, and you look like an idiot, and you may now have a child abuse flag on your record.The elders will enforce the decision prevent you from "making a show" or "bringing reproach on jehovah". The kid recovers the and is promoted as never having a blood transfusion because jehovah "brought them out of it". Everytime I read an article on the blood issue I wonder if the person actually recived a blood transfussion or not.
As for adults they take their blood secretly( or use treatments unapproved by the watchtower) and if the brothers find out they take their punishment (such as being deleted) or elders just burry it.

New JW Scam?? Here in Australia...
by TheApostleAK init's good to be back on here.... ok, is anyone aware of this particular scam that seems to be big here in adelaide, south australia.
i've heard a couple of times were jw's have befriended old people (particularly one's that live by themselves) and get them to a) join up or b) become good friends with them.
after being friends for a while the jw's 'suggest', 'coax' etc, to the old timer to put them down (the jw's) on their will.
