What most people don't realize is JWism is all about advertising nothing more. Remember "Adevertise, Adevertise,Adevertise, the king and his kingdom" the slogan of the founder rutherford. Many people fell hollowness in the faith because they stop believing the ads and the product is intangible.

REVIEW OF SUNDAY WT ON BLOOD FRACTIONS! (BOY WAS IT CONFUISNG!)
by tresbella inlast week i gave a review from the june 15 study article on blood from sunday's meeting.
this past sunday meeting we all received further enlightment on the blood fractions issue.
since i received so much good points and different perspectives i wanted some more help on the matter.

Actually he also gave a the elders wash our hands of this speech it is not our fault if you die kinda thing.

I know 3 JW lawyers, 1 doctor, 3 electronics professors, and 2 cpa. College was only strongly discouraged for things the watchtower did not need (such as anthropologist, biologist, physicist). They have always had request for "skilled volunteers". The system has always been biased to those whom were well off enough to totally pay their kids way though college so their kids could pioneer and be students.
Considering JWism is a religion there is no real relation between education and members, except socio-economically. Educated people live higher on the waterline, are less insecure about their futures, and live in less depressing conditions. Like my dad always says "When man turns the earth into a paradise they put 18 holes, and a fence around it". You can almost say they have less of a chance of living miserable lives with uncertain dead end jobs.
The "dumbing down" and obscuration was a way to make the religion palatable to educated people. By only being clear on the pros and vaguely or not stating the cons you can fly under the radar. They use the same technique as advertising. Actually the mags are only advertising for JWism nothing more.

Um Plasma has no cells and is water and protien. You could make ALLOGENEIC recombinant plasma from fractions, and it would qualify as up to christians to decide.

What the watchtower is doing is ending the blood ban by using dated classifications. JWs can use any product made from fractionated blood. A red blood cell is 97% hemoglobin 3% is the shell (which is not used for anything except to give the cell form). Hemoglobin makes abour 15% of blood and is not a minor part. A hemoglobin transfusion is for "Christian to decide". A red blood cell transfusion is "unacceptable". The difference is that the hemoglobin transfusion is the red blood cells have been cooked (to break the membrain), washed with detergent, and filtered leaving it disease free and universaly acceptable.
If you find this hypocritical jws eat non kosher meat which has no bleeding or curing standards. JWs simply buy meat and cook it. So why is it different if you medicaly cook blood and transfuse it. This is a power play to end the blood ban and hide from liability and save lives. The elder though did say "Keep conscience matters to your self".

by minimus inmost of the witnesses that marry are in their early 20's that i know of.
they have zippo experience in anything except how to hide pimples.
from what you have seen, are most witnesses encouraged to get married---just so that they don't sin?

Amen blondie. Number 3 is really popular. Even if they never become apostate or inactive I notice that young jws that marry seem to totally cut out the watchtwoer from their diet and do what ever they want. They only really hang around to visit their families.

At age 20 you can legaly join the military and potentialy die. So considering marriage is less lethal than armed combat is 20 really such a bad age?

Nah statistically people are marrying older. JWs just have not caught up to the trend.
IF you dont go to college past a 2 year JC age 20 is good as any. THe only thing that delays marriage for most people is building a career. If you dont have much of a career any age is good enough. In western societly you think it takes experience to pay your rent on time, or your utilities? Maybe when most JWs start doing these 8 year university stints it will seem odd.
