as this quotation is often used to support the allegation that jws believe the wt is inspired of god i thought it would be of wider interest to provide the relevant court record for general consideration.. the court case itself was in 1940 and was olin moyle against fred franz and others and the wtbts.

Amen Gary I was so pissed that after all these years of "meat in due season". It is like calling 911 and hearing a recording "don't call us. we'll call you." On some issues you are not even supposed to ask the elders about (this had to be from wt legal so in some far off land they can't be sued for undue influence).

They are basically saying, "You know the party line, do what ever you want, as long as you keep quite about it, and if you get DFed who cares just brown nose until they let you back in. Duh, it's a revolving door people. Gee haven't you learned anything from the pedophile brothers?

The concept of sin?

the concept of 'sin' and the fallen state of man is rather profound and used to blow my mind, especially when paul broke down the concept when writing about the struggle with the fleshly state.

i could relate to those words and it was originally one of the main reasons i moved towards the scriptures (that, and the carrot of living forever of course

You talking about the godess maat, the goddess of truth that would weight you deeds against her feather to figure out where your ka would go. BTW if anyone sees her upon your death, and you ended up in a plane with a backwards headed man that's the bad place. So start flying (you'll be a bird with human head) because it gets worse from there.

Gary I have heard of JW fables of cults or tribes (usually in some far off imaginary country) that upon meeting JWs are instantly converted because their doctrine was etheir indenticle or they only needed one piece of acurate knowelege imparted by these JWs. Which could be an example of a faithful slave thingy (one inspired person apart from the collective that generates the same food for the sheep ).

The problem is this if small group of people did not concede to the JW missionaries there is no doubt in my mind that they would be considered some type of christiandom or have some trumped up stigma. Once I told my grandfather about how the amish are like JWs. His rebutal is that "he'll molest a 12 year old girl and call her his wife." Now in amish theology yes you can do that (they believe God arranges marriages in heaven), but i doubt it is common today.

Oh. I thought that only a select few of the anointed were used to "feed" the other anointed.
So we have: The Bible written for the select few "Faithful and Discreet Slave" who then feed the "domestics" who are the non-select anointed.
After them we have a great crowd who have to nibble the crumbs that fall to the floor off the table of the anointed.
There are so many dividing lines according to Watchtowerdumb that I really can't keep up.
As far as not understand Christian Thought. That is true. If God speaks to each individual Christian by means of his Spirit I can't help but wonder why the results of that "speaking" ends up self-contradictory.

Yes I think it is a silly belief too but people honest to God believe it. And technically a domestic is a single anointed person.

Theologically the GB says they are "responsible" for everyone (Christians as a whole I assume) and they "use" and "guide" the "legal entities".

Actually the problem is they are supposed to be like the apostles selected by Jesus (I think the concept is that Jesus speaks throught you and true whatevers know it is really his words). How do you know if they are selected by Jesus or not they have never printed that information. The problem is if jesus is using them then things are as they should be or Jesus is incompetant or ineffective for allowing them to continue.

I think the "real" problem is that christianity is a cult. Forget about high control group, or freedom of this or that these people in effect should believe they talk for God. Yet they all disagree and have always disagreed. Some of their biggest disagreements are recorded in bible cannon. So either God is baiting the devil in a giant misinformation campaign and the christians won't tell us, the devil is running his own counter misinformation engine, it is just abunch of people that need attention and like playing with our lives, or any combination there of.

God religion sucks. If you believe the bible all this stuff makes sense and you are basically a drone with no choice in anything. If you dont believe then all this theology looks like a man made method to make a second form of meta physical government (chain of command) that does physical labor.

here is another paradox resulting from the wts stand on the flood:

1. jws seriously believe in 2370 bc as the date of the flood

2. they also believe that by the 1st century ad racial differences had been well developed (i mean differences in the outward appearance of course, and not their early racist views for instance).

The problem is genetically there has been several bottle necks in human history in various populations and the the speacis as a whole. The problem is that 8 normal people can't repopulate an entire planet unless it is just plain luck, and science does not count on luck.

One thing nobody brought up is that if noah and his son were alive today they would be considered super human. They did not age in a any normal fashion. So a person might as well be ploting the repoduction capabilities of dinosaurs and the like. The only real problem I see is their is no known global genetic bottle neck at 2370. The only thing left is local bottlenecks and those happen all the time

I think you mean the anointed because the GB is just 10 men and I doubt they think God went through all that trouble just for them.

Terry thats because you dont understand born again christian theology. They believe the holy spirit risides in them and talks, guides or directs them personally. Trinitarian unitarian the only difference is one level of buracracy. If you believe the bible then every writing by a born again christian is inspired by God. You see how this belief boards on lunacy and falacy. In the real world what the bible says is not true in unless you use the "no true" falacy to support it. Every one thinking they are going to heaven is not dialed into God.

The other sheep are just heretics. According to the bible they could not understand the bible themselves. The only thing oddly that theFDS has done different than the chruches is made a para-christian religion for people christ does not want therefore they are attempting to save souls by proxy. When the catholics figured this out they made purgatory. When JWs figured this they made a new order. Now keep in mind this is not describing real observable life. Just what many christians believe and how JWism fits in traditional theology.

i know nobody brought this up but any time you have a mass extinction (or foriegn speacis) there is a boom afterward with slighly unrealistic population expansion some individuals even start maturing faster. I know this usually works on animals with faster birth rates than humans.

Anyway the story of noah conflicts with the bible cannon and science. I think it is alot harder to figure out what really did happen than matching the noah account to bible based history.

From the story it seems that Noah packed his farm on to a boat in aticipation of some type of monsoon (packing a farm onto a boat is probally as old as farming and boating). I wonder cant you find any type of genetic bottle neck in livestock in the middle east. They have done in with some dogs it is just a problem of where to look. It would be really great if those guys that discovered that the nile drying up destroyed the old kingdom could do the reverse and figure out when it was abnormally wet.

Fault in human DNA strand?

hi there - i'm sorry if this is off topic slightly, but i need information.. i am not learned in this area of science and wondered if it is true that there is a fault within human dna that science assumes is the reason we break down and die and are unable to explain.. forgive my ignorance here.

this question spins off from a conversation i had this afternoon with an ex-jw who wishes to get back to the kingdom hall and was using this argument to present his ideas to me.

i told him that i was not aware of this particular area of study but would look into it for him.. i am assuming that he read this in an awake article maybe?.
