Not to rock the boat but blodie may be wrong. And article a few months ago said thatyou should only go d2d if you are whole hearted about it. Which oddly means if you don't like d2d your suppossed to stay home. Oddly since reading the article I adopted this stance and nobody has called up on me. BTW oddly the annionted are required to preach btw. Most articles really try to instill guilt to everyone that doesn't by say "but don't you wana engage in a life saving work?". My answer is if i wanted to do that I'd become a paramedic or a DR. Some people are not motivated by altruism alone.

Do "Born-Again Christians" lie on JW's to put them in a bad light?

i was reading a book on early church fathers and early christian doctrines.

i could not put the book down.

i noticed that some of the early church fathers "denounced" war frowned upon celebrating holidays and also "birthdays" some of their arguments sounded exactly like jw's and if you did not know you would have thought you were talking to some jw's.

If you read the magazine the 1%ers call them selves born again all the time, and enjoy patting themselves on the back about it. It is not news. Infact most of the magazines seem to be writen to them, and for them with door (or boobies) prizes for the 99% of us.

I wonder which girl is the JW one. One season had a JW model, but of coarse you would not be able to tell it from the shom. I like this Venus/Serena syndrome it seems to be contagious so all you ladies in JWs land stop washing your hands, and give lil cute sneezes.

The problem is since JWs are born again christians they are putting themselves in a bad light too.

As far as scholarship most "christians" are wrong about the "authenicity" of JW docterines, if they are not simply restating what JW beliefs are/were. Many of them are gnostice doctrines that predate the Ante-Nicene fathers. And many of them are far from new or original. As in parts JWs are a very unimpressive and uninspired anthology of herrectical beliefs (but then every church that is not catholic/ greek orthodox is too), but as a whole a unique branch of traditional Christianity.

Do you know of any "baptized" JW's that committed suicide or attempted?

i remember one of my childhood friends was found dead and the police said he committed suicide.

i just could not believe it because my friend was a "devout" jw almost franatical about it.

now years later since i have seen both sides of the coin i am beginning to wonder if my friend did indeed kill himself.

If there is such a thing as genetically predispossed to suicide (how would darwin explain that) I know a case. At age 35 two generarions the family would ritualistically commit suicide. THe father commiteed suicide at 35, then when the mother turned 35 she commited sucide over the death of her husband, the son had a family with are pretty young seductress JW who seemed to like to dance horizontaly when he wasn't around. So on video he explained this whole complicated mess while he slit his wrist at age 35.

I know another "suicide" in the family, but it was confessed to be murder. From what I understand the police are not interested in re-opening the case.

Jesus/Michael Is there a change?

they told her that jesus was not the archangel michael!!

BTW blondie I am finding your quotes strange (I notice you find them strange too). Mainly because they conflict other quotes issued at the same time regarding the 1914/ establishing of the kingsdom doctrines. One (the mage with the big yellow globe on it) from this year has the kingdom up and running (abiet at idle) before 1914 and Jesus as king. The more watchtowers I read the more you can see even the watchtower does not understand the implications of its own doctrines. For example you can't be king of a government that does not exist yet. If you are king you can't be more king just because you are engaging in some action of looking at the earth or fighting demons.

now this is not traditional corruption where i bend the rules out of greed for power or money.

this is the total lack of moral judgement, or as the watchtower calls it "a bible trained conscience".

I was not explaining it persay. I was just noticing that this may be a fluke I am trying to find that other qoute. There are still large portions of JWs that do know understand the generation change and are still waiting for the last people that lived in 1914 to see the armageddon.

Lol how did two separate post merge into one blondie? That was to go on the other tread.

BTW that article is from 1995 I believe. Maybe this whole thing was a millenium fluke that was forgoten and the wts moved on. THey have never been much for continuity.

I can look up a few articles in the awake vs watchtower stance. One I remember is that the awake did an article on dolmens (like stonehenge) the article placed the funnel beaker people as the builders, but that conflicts the watchtowers stance the global flood really happend.

BTW if you look at the wts webpage they have a list of what JWs believe. They list them believing Jesus is not God. They don't list Jesus is Michael or 1914 as a JW belief.

I lost the bible study narc because he was a trinitarian. If if Jesus was not michael then to him that meas Jesus was God. Since JWs are unitarian that doesn't bode well.
