No. Those are diffrent things you need proof of racketeering which is covered under RECO. Unless I am mistaken the FBI is not pursuing a racketeering case against the Watchtower.

i seem to have a vague recollection that they do.
however, they don't seem to have a problem reading and selectively quoting or citing from their writings which would then be the writings of apostates.
Like every heretic they reference they pick and choose what beliefs are apostate, or consider the person "searching" for the truth. Most articles have sly disclaimers saying the person had some of the truth but not all. For all we know Franz may make it back into the watchtower in the future. The attrition rate of JWs is steep and the watchtowers memory is short. Most apostate and occult material is used as reference in the bethel library oneday someone is going to ask "Crisis? Harry Potter? Wait how come I could not read these books before I got to bethel?".
dansk recently asked us to write and protest about the erection of a kh in bury, lancashire.. many of us did just that and the newspaper concerened emailed most of us asking for permission to publish our comments in it's weekly issue.. it was also suggested that maybe we could also write to df'ing committees to protest at their actions.. so, we're wondering, should we form some sort of committee to co-ordinate operations such as this on an ongoing basis?.
if we did that, who would be interested in playing an active part?.
any suggestions as to how such an operation should be run?.
Here in the USA, I am not very interested in protesting kingdom halls being built. I am interested in exposing the behaviors of the group like the hiding the clear nature of the group, that it is a political party operating a publishing company, doing direct sales while evading sales tax. You are not very democratic then. It is peoples right to have a totalitarian church/state party. Also I have been saying this for years most people including JWs act like they don't know what the word theocratic means. Also we are not doing direct sales the Jerry Falwell case broke us of that a long time ago. Unless there are campaign reform laws that went into effect (and boy a lot have since the election 2000 debacle) the watchtowers tax status is not effected because it prints political, or religious literature, for now it has not sponsored any candidates (we may in the future). There is nothing illegal about asking people to think a certain way by stacking the deck it is called propaganda. When our favorite catch phases is ?advertise, advertise the king and his kingdom? what do you expect?
I just wished people JWs mostly realized we have always been in a political party since Rutherford. Doctrinally we are just Unitarians Gnostics with a patchwork quilt of neo-hereticism for flavor. Our beliefs can be found as easily in a history books as a Watchtower. The Watchtower is the party (a fine one it is) not the religion. We are the opposite of the Wiccans who are a new religion claiming to be old, we are an old religion claiming to be new IMO.

If you remember later in the "story" Moses eventualy did come out of "thin air" and never made it to the promised land. It would be sad if that is the fate of the WTS after all the years of poking holes in other peoples "arks" pokes holes in our own.
Also I believe that anything in the bible that is quantitive such as numbers in the bible or the strict use of the word all and every should be taken with a grain of salt. Many errors in translations of numbers have been discovered because of bad math or transcription errors. So 4000 has become 40,000 in some bibles. These things were reproduced by hand after all and writen in totaly different languages.

BTW if you compare Moses to the watchtower they are almost at parity. If Jehovah actually did choose the Jehovah's Witnesses doesn't it mean the apostates are screwed because even if their complaint is legitimate our God will kill you anyway for "speaking against" the guy he put in charge. Because in reality you are charging those whom died with apostasy for demanding food and water after already being punished to die in the wilderness. I am not pro-apostate, but you do understand that some of these complaints here are the same complaints the Israelites had. Namely being lead by a Privileged leader they deemed incompetent.

Actually why would you wana find a quote. If you see a murder but the person is aquitted if you say they are a murderer you are liable. If this works out in civil courts why would you need to find it in a Watchtower that is at parity with established the concept of slander?

I am confused from what I see people are complaining that the watchtower is "behind the times", but so is most of organized religion. In the old days women and children were abused regularly, and the same thing that happens in the elders meetings happened with the police. Also it is not the WTS job to protect anyone. I know it is sad, but they are a book company people! The people whom protect you are the police! It says so on their cars.
I think some people such as silent lambs (I?m not throwing stones) are under the false impression religion has a say in the matter. That is the problem that started the "pedophile paradise" people waiting for Jehovah to smite the sex-offenders. In this case it is the outside world for once turning the Watchtower into Jehovah. In effect praying to the Watchtower to smite the child molesters.
JWs have a false sense of security because of the ?special relationship? with Jehovah. Providing their field service time is up they can pray, and instantly the all the sex-offenders in their hall will be swallowed up like Korah and the rest of the men in the camp, and a molester proof halo will shield their child from all assaults. Before every assembly he brothers get up and remind the brothers to watch their children because there are pedophiles lurking conventions. Yet the average JW does not use their reasoning capability to figure out that means there are pedophiles in their kingdom halls too.
Most parents never search for sex-offenders in their area anyway. It is not anyone?s fault, but the abusers granted. JWs rarely call the police or the elders until the crap has hit, the fan. I don't know why but from personal experience every JW I know acts like they have a key of coke in their book bags when the cops come around. Maybe that American flag on their uniforms make them look like agents of Satan. I know a "brother" that committed adultery/ statutory rape with a 15 year old guess who?s in jail? Who gives a crap if the elders do anything? If it is a convicted sex offender then it is easy to find them. I believe that the "closed society" that breeds pedophiles is a fairy tail. It is just JWs are arrogant people, whom collectively rather take a chance of letting their children get molested than looking bad. The reason is simple those two magic words "Brother" and "Sister" what you are describing is the same mechanisms that perpetuate abuse in families. Except this family have 6 million people. Since nobody wants to break up their family they rather take the abuse or cover it up then risk exposure. What you want basically is to dissolve the cultic unity that JWs have. Don't waste your time. You can't police ego.
Sorry if I sound uncaring, but I have first hand experience. Most JWs will never call the police because just like 70 years ago the embarrassment and stigma of being a molestation victim is greater than any amount of justices giving a pedophile jail time will bring. Sadly to say it the only way to solve this is to make child molestation ?okay?. Someone needs to find a JW Oprah to basically show being molested is not something to be ashamed of, and that you can grow up to be a normal person. I know a few JW children molested (by minors), and nothing was done except separate the minors. No juvenile courts, child protective services to figure out who molested the perpetrator, or therapy. Just jarring the kids like Siamese fighting fish. These broken child perpetrators did eventualy end up in the system. It is like they think if it is known their child has been molested, and since their child has been already turned into a ?sex fiend? any man, or beast that wants some will just bring out the publisher cards of JW molestation victims, and waltz your kids off to Motel 6 for a giant orgy. I know it sounds sick but I have heard ?you gotta watch them they?ve been molested, don?t sit too close to um?, like the little kid was going to start giving lap dances or something.

Africa is the phantom zone of Jehovah's Witnesses read the yearbooks. The most **** up things go on. If you think the brothers here are bad Africa is insane. One hall was in the year books this year for wife swapping and polygamy. Maybe watchtowers don't translate well into guttural grunts or tongue clicks. The brothers can barely keep them from "voodoo" let alone anything else. I would not be surprised if JWs there joined the rebels too, reasoning the watchtower said it is okay to "cooperate" with guerillas during civil war. Actually I am wondering now days if you had the elder body in your pocket what can you get away with and still be in good standing just by exploiting watchtower double speak.
