LOL are you defending the watchtower's sense of integrity?

It is a flighty mercurial organization. They did not "step in it" they were being true to form. You should read about aluminum cookware, or flu shots, or the assets of the negro. The watchtower makes something up spits fire and brimstone then moves on to something else.

They saw the UN was too anemic in the 90's and moved on. If the UN gets a major booster shot in the future the beast will return. Heck these pedophile scandals in the future may be seen as punishment for flirting with the wild beast. It is all good writing. The watchtower is a serial just like a comic book. They have to keep people interested, and gain new readers. If the WTS can link some obscure bible verse to a implied modern day fulfillment then they will try.

I am supprised how many people can't see the watchtower MO. These are the guys that said the 1975 fall out was due to banning smoking. I am still inside this thing and I see it. When the wts wants to get rid of something they will stop printing about it then after the statute of limitations wares off do a recontinuity. The only problem with the UN thing is they reconed after they left the UN instead of before.

i knew early on that they were pacifists but i had no idea that this included not honouring (or dishonouring) those that have died under war conditions.

i find it so hypocritical that the dubs are quite happy to benefit from the principles (ie freedom, liberty, justice, etc) that these men & women fought for & yet refuse to pay tribute to them.

Zero Sum Game

A game in which players make payments only to each other. One player's loss is the other player's gain, so the total amount of "money" available remains constant.

Did they not receive unlimited access to gold, silver, and other minerals in these lands, revenue from subjugated nations, and over a million slaves (drawn from their many wars of conquest as POWs) to perform all the mundane, drugery tasks so that native Romans could have increased leisure?

The territory once occupied by the Roman empire is now split among more than thirty nation states.

BTW the Mongols had a larger empire and better army.

War can make money, but that?s really not what I was addressing. People think war makes things better or 'freer' or what ever. War does nothing, but eliminate competition for resources AKA killing people. Morally winning a war means nothing. If a soldier wants to go to war to make money fine become a mercenary, but why pretend you dying matters on some moral scale? If two cannibals are fighting to the death does it matter who wins? War is socio-economic cannibalism.

Fight Terrorism? The "War on Terror" is an oxymorron.

Terrorism BTW is already illegal and can be policed inside America like any other crime those jets took off from American soil. 9/11 was a crime but like any other crime rape for example can you prevent it by dropping bombs?

This war makes zero sense if America is not an empire. If America is an empire then it is very incompetent. It used to be legal to support the subversion of a foreign power thought terrorism BTW it was called the cold war.

If American is not fighting for oil or imperialism, which I hope it is. Then it is stupid, wasting lives, and money for a temporary false sense of security. Because of the nature of mankind you can?t control people unless you indoctrinate them as children, bribe them, or force them. America is not bribing well enough, and its concept of force is juvenile because of politicians that do not want to seem blood guilty.

American literally has to butcher those people to make them behave just like they butchered the Germans and Japanese in WW2. Because it is a guerilla war America will have to execute lots of people to end it deliberately, or accidentally. I believe that America rather accidentally kill people than do like ww2 and hang a few extra influential Germans for made up war crimes.

I am not saying this is a good thing, but the history of how these types of conflicts are naturally resolved are now called war crimes or terrorism. Ever since the war crimes concept was reinvented in WW2 few conflicts have ended as abruptly. America can legally skirt the war crimes issue and wholesale kill people by classing them as spies. I don?t know of any politician savvy enough and brave enough to do so.

That?s my take the war on terror a stupid war that hopefully has a clandestine ulterior motive that only appears inept on the surface. Otherwise it is just inept.

Sorry if I sound harsh. I did not mean to permanently offend you. It is just you would think if war was good as much of it that has gone on things would get better. In reality things have remained constant. Warfare does bring new technology that can make things better, but I doubt any soldier goes off to die so the next generation can have better technology.

Before you join up ask some veterans that went into combat about it. If they tell you the truth they will tell you it was exciting, but emotionally it sucks. You literally have to break your brain or have a broken brain to exist in that environment why would anyone choose it? I am drawn to it, but I know it is because I am messed up. It is nothing I would want to inflame prematurely.

Oh and BTW 40 years ago "kill a commie for Christ" was drilled into american soldeirs heads the same commies that died for our freedoms 20 years before that. If america and britan was so just how come it did not rid the world of all this "evil"? They had the A bomb, american industry, fresh american soldiers, and a foot hold at the door of both of these.

I am 23 and yeah I may be stuck in my ways. I would like to say ww2 took power from 2 dictators in 2 small countries, but kept in power 2 dictators of 2 large countries. So even the most "moral" of wars WW2 is still a zero sum game. So one guy dies for "freedom" and the other for another dictator. Infact on average more people died for dictators in ww2 than democracies. What does that tell you?

What in heck are you smoking in college? War is a zero sum game! It just reduces the population that is all. You are too young or too naive to understand (hence a perfect candidate for the military).

The benefits of war is simple things are better with less people providing the war does not totally cripple the economy or the ecology. This is a temporary benefit because the more war you have the more sex people have. Open a history book. War does nothing but kill people. If you want to defend your foreign interest fine, but understand 2000 years ago some roman died defending his foreign interest in the same place you live now from probably your relatives, and his empire was not as "free". If you wanna kill and die fine it is your right as a human just don't pretend you are on a moral high ground because of altruism.

Yes lets remember all those red chinese that died for North Koreas independace and freedom... Lets not forget those charlies in Nam while we are at it. I bet those JWs celebrate their freedom every Anzac Day too. Fighting for freedom is great if you get it when the fighting is over. Have fun, but remember the Japanese fought for their freedom to rule the pacific. Aren't you happy they lost their freedom.

Read Herbrews Cha. 11:11-16... this is about ALL the Old testament saints including adam & eve. Notice vs 16 what that better county is (Heaven)!!!!!! also read Matt 8:11 (kingdom of Heaven) and the Old Saints are there.

Number one Adam and Eve are not in Hebrews 11. Objectively this is a poem, and is "inaccurate" in many points. In heb 11:36 it clears it up the fact that they did not receive the Christ for their "faith", and are unsaved by your own definition! What many of you Christian do is come to JWs with all this born again stuff. Then you undo all your argument telling us a bunch of Jews are in heaven who never did any of this Jesus in your heart stuff.

I like your spin on the earthly part of the kingdom of heaven, but to keep it real the wts aint stupid, and covers its butt well on the born again angle.

Another thing isn't our religion broken? Christianity is a godforsaken construct. It made sense until Paul messed it up. Take note. Historically Paul was among the first Christian writers and may have helped "invent" Christianity. This means that potentially someone else could have came along later and made the gospel nicer than it originally was and inserted a better Jesus.

Actually JWs are NOT pacifist. We are partisan objectors. JWs die in war like everyone else they just don't fight in them. We are jailed or executed for non-participation. That should be just as good as actively dying. Think of it would you rather the JWs in an aggressor nation die trying to kill your soldiers, or would you rather them get executed for not killing your soldiers. It is so biased, nationalistic, and macho. If people die fighting it is acceptable.

When the Japanese took Korea, and JWs refused to serve they were heroes to the Koreans, and criminals to the Japanese. When the Koreans took control they became criminals again. Anyone see how bigoted this is. If we joined a conflict it would suck because we would have to form a spy network to coordinate with other JWs. It would be like Alqeada.

Maybe ?normal? people would kill for their country or their party. If that were extended to JWs we would have to kill for the Watchtower?s Theocratic party. It would suck more for you guys than it would for us. Cuz at least we would be in control of our lives instead of turning them over to the powers that be to do what they wish like in every other conflict. You also have to remember the wars when the "bad guy" wins. What benefit do the JWs that live there get? I am sorry if I am hostile on this, but it chaps my butt when someone says his or her Grand Dad died for us worthless JWs whom apparently never die in warfare. Who ever killed him probably wasn?t a JW, and at least Grand Dad had a ****ing gun!

As far as honor we will give honor, but to only a point.
