I was hoping that Bucky or Ace would go tonite.. I was happy when Kathryn didn't get the boot.. I think she should stay a while. I liked Lisa and was sorry to see her go so soon..I thought the only one that sang really well last nite was Taylor Hicks..

When I was a teen , a brother had a part at the Circuit Assembly to teach the "youth" what good wholesome entertainment and JW socializing was all about. He had a group of about 10 of us: it was supposed to show how good JW teens should behave when get together for an evening of good 'wholesome" fun.
One brother played the guitar and we sang some country tune and then took turns telling really corny and bad jokes..We were all embarrassed to be in the part actually.. We heard that afterward the brothers "in charge" were not pleased with the way he conducted the segment. It was not at all realistic. We all tried to tell him that it just wasn't believable or realistic.. even by JW standards.. but.. guess he learned by all his bad reviews..

Rules Created by the Body of Elders and an Off Topic Question
by XJW4EVR inin my latest post in my story, i recounted how my dad and another elder made attendance at high school sports events a no-no.
in retrospect, i don't recall anything in print that made attendance at local sporting events a shepherding offense.
maybe my memory is faulty.. did your boe make rules like this?.

In our congregation in the late 1970's, an elder who ran his own business and drove a cadillac had his kids in organized sports. His son played on the house league baseball team and his daughter was in the skating program. I remember it was discouraged at that time by the society, but no one said anything to him.He was a big donater to the hall.. and pretty much did what he pleased.. while remaining an elder.. It seems that the average JW struggling to make ends meet must tow the line,, but if you have money.. you can do whatever you like.. as long as you put on appearances at the hall..He was also creepy because he would look the young sisters up and down as they went up the stairs to the KH.

We disassociated ourselves in 1986 and haven't gone to a memorial since then except for once 5 years ago.. Just my husband and I went to make his parents happy, They never shunned us when we left although counselled many times to do so by elders. They said familiy was more important..
Anyways. we went that one time,, it was a curiosity to see JWs that we hung around with as teens. Some spoke to us... But the funny part was the overseer saying if we wanted to come back.. we would have to sit at the back of the hall for all the meetings with no one talking to us until we proved ourselves worthy thru biblestudy and actions that we were worthy to come back.... NO THANks.....It made me realize how lucky we were to get out of that brainwashed way of life

I have watched a few programs on Dateline and CNN about the gerns that lurk in offices.. and that is why we get sick a lot at work.. I bought my husband some of the bottled handwash.. the kind that doesn't need water to kill bacteria.. He says a few guys in the office do that too.. Maybe she might wash her hands a bit too much,, but it only makes good sense anyway...Too bad other people have to stick their noses into other peoples business.. maybe they should wash their hands a little bit more!!!!!

I was happy to know I made the right decision to leave and and end the little nagging thoughts that maybe they might be right,, maybe I will die at armageddon.. Now it is a relief to know it is all lies and contrived reasonings on Bible scriptures..I feel sorry for the JW friends I left behind who are still trapped and either too afraid or too brainwashed to be free of the lies of the org...
