You could call the police as what they did was illegal..at least maybe talk to your local newspaper and tell how they handled your case.. A little media attention can work wonders..Maybe even phone the elders to give them a heads up that you plan to proceed with this..Just to be fair..

by kwintestal inanyone who listened to sol's recordings, would have heard at the end of the first recording of the second appeal meeting (the one that he showed up with a bearded jw named "sean") sol mentioning a second recording device that remained in a brief case recording the elders as they discussed sol's case without him present.
perhaps you are wondering what happened to those.
well, let me fill you in.. sometime while sol was dismissed from the group for the second time, the elders searched the brief case.

Not everything is so black and white as to what is morally right or wrong.. Years ago..Rosa Parks broke the law by sitting at the front of the bus because she believed it was morally wrong to have to go to the back simply because of skin colour. The police officer who arrested her for that apoligized to her but said he had no other choice.. Sorry but I view Richie obtaining the book.. not as theft..but as a moral objection to the way a cult trains their elders to "shepherd " the flock..The information in the book clearly states the stand the society takes on pedophilia.. that they don't take it seriously as they should..only when pushed to do so... They feel apostasty and questioning the GB is a much worse crime..

I really don't see how they think they could sue you for taping a meeting that is concerning you and being taped by you..It is not an infringement of anyone's personal rights or freedoms..How they handle the JC should not be secretive and should be able to be made public if you as the one under scrutiny by them has no objection to that.. By them threatening to charge you.. if shows they are afraid of the outside world knowing how closeminded and cold they are towards handling members of their congregation.Just the same way they shut down websites.. They are afraid of the real truth about the society becoming public knowledge.. If they were directed by God's spirit.. they would have nothing to hide..It shows they are just men.. led by another group of men..and their own "inspired" ideas.

Great post!!! My husband and I were just talking about this the other day..Kids are so spoiled today with all the technology..video games.,,dvds..computers..They don't have to make their own fun.. its all there!!! I remember long summer days as a kid passing away a summer day playing Monopoly..skipping rope(do kids even do that anymore) or even just walking to the store to get a bottle of pop was a treat.. My parents didn't buy pop often as it was a treat.. And you would drink it all.not waste a drop.. because it was a treat.. I feel sorry for our kids nowadays in many ways.. because they haven't really learned to make their own entertainment or enjoy the liitle things in life..

Taylor was still my favorite.. as Simon says he was "magic" and I really thought he was great.. my husband thinks Chris should go all the way.. I think Chris has an amazing rocker voice and should have a great music career.. I just think Taylor has more personality and is fun to watch as well as talent.. I love Katherine's singing also. I am hoping Ace goes tonite.. Kelly probably should go but I think she will still get the votes....Now if only I could vote....

I agree with AuldSoul and Honesty..the book with its sidenotes should be shown to someone in authority.. maybe the local newspapers and a new program like Dateline would be interested to see how the society counsells their elders to handle problems like pedophilia..The only way that dangerous practises can be stopped is to be brought to public knowlege.
