Its sad that so many of our fathers, mothers and grandparents are dying and not seeing the end of this system and the new system they thought they would live to see. My fatherinlaw died last year. He was a MS and he thought he would be there bringing the deserving ones thru. My motherinlaw said how much he was looking forward to that and now he was dead. It hasn't seemed to have shaken her faith though, She is still devoted. I guess after all those years and you are in your 70's its too hard to change. Im just glad I didn't waste my life waiting for something that is never going to come, and I don't think I would want it anyways. Not if it meant having to live with JWs laws. :)

Faithfull to the end
by Ticker inmy grandma was a devout jw most of her life, and when i mean devout i mean 24-7 preaching constantly to anyone especially family.
i have her to thank for my indoctrination as a child, but i realize she was merely indoctrinated herself.
her personality traits led to her being such a zealot for the watchtower, so i have no bitterness toword her, as she has passed on a few years ago.

Blindly following and believing anything the society dictates as the order of the moment- judgemental- always fearful of doing anything that jeoparizes their chances at everlasting life. :)

Well , that story is exactly what the new system would be like. I really have to give my head a shake ,, that I actually believed it would happen,, or actually wanted it to happen. Now I think, if it really was true , I don't want to live in the new system , run by their rules, like a bunch of clones,,Thanks for sharing that story with us,, makes me even happier to be "out of the org". :)

If This Isn't A Cult----What Is It????
by minimus inthe organization teaches that we leave everyone and everything else behind when we join christianity (also known as the "truth").
your father, mother, brother and sister all have to be given up to become a "real" christian.
friends that you grew up that are not of the same religion must be abandoned.

Women are below men, they can't hold positions in the congregation, they can't give talks addressing the congregation, She must acknowledge her husband as the head of the house. Even to lead prayer in a group, she must cover her head.
The only grounds for divorce is adultry, It doesn't matter if he beats you up or verballly abuses you .If you remarry, you are punished by being outcast and shunned, until they feel you are worthy to be accepted again.

hmmm.well I looked into the wiccan and a few things like that on the internet, just because I could and when I was JW it was considered so evil. But anyways, I would never join any other organization, good or bad, Im happy just to live the way I want. Some people seem to need to have others to emulate, not sure why, but I guess thats why other cults or religions, good and bad flourish. Different strokes for different folks.. I guess :)

Tonights Instruction talk
by IP_SEC inwhat a noble theme to the instruction talk tonight er this week.. emphasizing jesus' roles as high priest and head of the congregation .
now you'd think the information the talk is based on would emphasize jesus' roles right?
*** be p. 277 the message we must proclaim ***.

Additionally, Jesus exercises great authority as the one designated by God to be Head of the Christian congregation. (Matt. 28:18; Eph. 1:22, 23) As such, he provides needed direction in harmony with God?s will. When you teach others, help them to appreciate that Jesus Christ, and no human, is the Head of the congregation. (Matt. 23:10)
Interesting how they begin with Jesus to make it tie in with the propaganda to follow, which is to keep following the society's rules and laws. Not God's or Jesus's laws. But the laws set out by the sociey. I don't even know how the society can seriously write this stuff anymore. :)

Well everything they teach is based on fear anyways. Question the org you will be DF'd( castout), They even keep you in fear about the new system -you mustn't have any individual or free-thinking or you will still die. Very clever brain-washing, I must say :)

Does the Governing Body Have Any Real Friends They Can Trust Now?
by frankiespeakin ini would think with all that the governing body is faced with that they must feel some form of isolation even at bethel.
they must worry all the time that soon thier little world will come crashing down especially with the brutal exposer the internet is providing.
i'm also sure that they wonder who will be the next to turn states evidence against them in some legal case they face now or in the furure.. with all the very clear information on the internet exposeing the governing body thate soon some higher up will get deprogramed that have been privy to some very damaging information perhaps from the accounting or the legal department that could send thier asses to jail.

Over 20 years ago, when my husband and I were still practising JW's , my husband and another brother friend went to help build our new assemby hall here in the Toronto area. The day they were there, members of the governing body came to visit the building work and see its progress. My husband and this brother were shocked to see them drive up in an expensive new car and wearing expensive looking suits. This is a little off topic, but I think it shows how they are profiting from the contributions of the little guys. They make a nice life based on lying to the masses. :)

Hi Confusedgirl, no need to be confused anymore. I have been disassociated for 20 years now. but always curious as to whether others felt about the org as my husband and did. We didn't really know anyone who had the same situation as us. I was happy to find this site last year. Its an amazing thing , this internet, that people can meet together from all over the world and exchange ideas. It has reaffirmed that my husband and I made the right decision in leaving, especially for our kids and the quality of their lives. :)
