Well, I can certainly relate to that artice. I am happy you posted it, so I know others are experiencing the same childrearing pains that my husband and I am. My son who is now 23 is amazing. He is living his life and attending university and doing all the things I missed while stuck in the borg.. Just what I hoped for my kids. My daughter is another story. She constantly causes me worry, which is so upsetting because I know how bad her life could have been if I had kept her in the witless way of life I had growing up. I guess it just proves that you raise your kids the same, but it all comes down to different personalities as to how they turn out.. I am desperatly longing for the day when I will have the "empy-nest" part of my life... just had to vent a little bit...lol

by lola28 inever get really bad back pain?

Hi lola, not sure if this will work for you,,as it depends on what is causing your backpain, I was dealing with ciatic nerve pain that went down into my leg and I couldn't sit or walk much for a few weeks. I went for massage therapy and that has helped. I am pretty much back to normal. My son has dealt with back pain from sport injury and he cured it with accupuncture. Sorry I can't tell you much for imediate relief other than try a heating pad or if there is inflammation use a cold pack.and advil is good for pain relief.Your doctor should be able to help you though.

Are Winter Olympics Boring?
by Oroborus21 inis it just me or are the winter olympics boring?.
i dunno, maybe ice hockey sometimes is interesting and a few of the short speed skating events...but ice skating, all the skiing events, even snowboarding....it all seems pretty boring to me.
and i like to ski but watching it on tv - boring.. the summer games are so much more interesting.. -eduardo

I love to watch the ice skating competitions. I heard tonite that Michele Kwan might not compete due to a groin injury, Hopefully she can , I believe this will be her last chance to compete in the olympics. It was sad for her in the last olympics when she fell in the competition and lost her chance at the gold.

Pioneer Sister is Even Confused about The Annointed...Now I'm Confused!
by stillAwitness inok, this time i wasn't snooping around but i was eavesdropping in a conversation the co was having with the freeloader pioneer sister who has been staying with us:
apparently she was a bit confused as to what will happen during the 'new system" between her and her husband.
this is where it gets confusing and i need help understanding this: (i could only get in a few tidbits of the convo here and there: ya'll don't know how hard it is to have your ear pressed to a door fro 30 minutes!

Its really sad how much time they have wasted on their pointless witness lives...If she is an older sister who will find it devastating to know how she has been mislead.then probably it is better she lives on her life in ignorance. Its truly amazing how the elders and others in position of "power" can use the standard "new light" BS to satisfy every question from the masses.Probably ..they tell so many stories they don't know the difference between fantasy and truth anyways..

Also clearly shows how reading their literature is "equal" to attending 4 years of college...

Do You Think Witnesses Deal With Death Properly?
by minimus injws aren't supposed to breakdown in their emotions for it could be a sign that you put too much emphasis on the temporary.
just focus on the ressurection, for heaven' sake!
don't mourn like the world that does not have hope!

yes.. I think many do desire to grieve but they are not allowed to show their grief ,,,they are forced to put up a front of being happy that their loved one will make it into the new system..so its a good thing that they died.. that is what brothers and sisters told me,, when my mother died.. be happy she will be resurrected she has won her reward..they think they are special in Jehovahs eyes over anyone else in the world...how short sighted they become with the witless teachings..

I remember after my mother died suddenly and I took it hard-- witnesses saw me cry and I was told I shouldn't be upset or cry because she would be resurrected one day... I told a couple of sisters who came to visit me that Jesus cried when Lazuras died and he knew he would resurrect him . They looked at me with surprise and said they had never thought of that.....I thought how strange their thinking was at the time..even though I was still strongly trapped in the witless way of thinking..

Do you support gay marriage?
by chappy inis your belief moral, social or practical?
would you feel the same way if there were absolutely no religious influence on the matter pro or con?.
regardless of your belief, does every adult have a fundimental right to marry anyone of his or her choosing, regardless of gender?.
-
lilybird
Yes.. gay unions should be allowed. In a free society,, people should be allowed to love and live and share their life with the person of their own choice,, whether it be man or woman.. But I also agree with some other posters here that instead of a "marriage" involving religion there should be some type of law acknowledging unions of gay and straight couples. It just makes life easier for them when dealing with financial matters...and if they love each other..life is too short... you should love and live freely..

I watched a movie made in the late 70's dealing with this topic. It was a made for TV movie starring Kate Jackson , who had just shortly left Charlies Angels. She was married to a man who was secretly gay, The husbands character was played by a 70's hottie actor of the time,, I think Randy Mantooth ..not sure.. Anyways, it dealt with him coming to terms with loving another man and telling his wife(Kate Jackson)that he was leaving her for the man he loved. It was well told and I thought very openminded for its time... It really told how some men tried to live life society dictated for them,, and his decision to live with his gay lover............. Also a really good movie made a year or so ago called...Far from Heaven.. with Dennis Quaid as a husband in the1950's who is in love with another man..If you haven't watched that movie,, it is really well made.. also deals with other issues of that era, not just a gay husband....
