Its true leaving the org doesn't necessarily make you happier.. but it allows you to make adjustments in your life to be happier ,,,something you can't do in the org..so.. yes.. I would say...I am a happier person after leaving the org..

Are You Truly "HAPPY" Now That You're Out Of The Organization?
by minimus ini've seen how some (not me) are still bewildered and still searching for "the truth" and are unhappy.

"Deliverance at Hand" District Convention Invitation
by Elsewhere intruthsetsonefree has provided spiritual food at the proper time by emailing me these scans.... this is the little hand-bill invitation for the next district convention that we've been hearing about.
considering the fact that most jws never actually read such things before handing them out, i suspect that many people will be given these things but never actually told when and where the convention will be held!
on the back it says: "the local congregation of jehovahs witnesses invites you to attend the convention that will be held at the time and location shown here.

Well. I do notice in the illustration of life in paradise,, that everyone has the same vacant silly smile that makes them look like they have been lobotomized..Im not a big fan of gardening.. I wouldn't be happy spending forever weeding the gardens...

ELDERS BREAK UP GROUP OF SISTERS - WHY?
by juni ina friend told me tonight that the elders broke up a group of sisters who were all experiencing various degrees of depression and enjoyed the upbuilding association with each other.. why would they do this?
according to them for two reasons:.
because this looks bad to the cong.

Well therapists say that depression is a result of repressed anger... I think many sisters struggle with being oppressed.. not being allowed to be their own person.. always be judged by others and told how to live., think and basically exist

JW's ruin my dinner.
by moshe ini took my family to red lobster tonight and shortly after we were seated ( it was about 5 pm- early) a large party came in and took up two tables next to us.
one young woman had a very loud laugh and because of that i kept looking at their table.
then i noticed a young black couple with a toddler- then i noticed all the men had suits and ties- then i noticed three single men were sitting together and three single women next to them- and finally one young couple that i decided were married.

I stopped for lunch in a fast food restaurant and saw a former JW friend , her husband and her sister eating there. We had been close ..lived together for a while before we both married and were in each others weddings. Her sister had been disfellowshipped for a while,, but I would always go to visit her with her sister as she was my best friend..Her sister would tell me I shouldn't be visiting her,,but I didn't see why not.. she wasn't a bad person.. Anyways. point of story is.. they all 3 looked at my like I was a stump or something and didn't answer my hello when I stopped by their table ----- totally ignored me and went on talking.. Which didn't really surprise me,, but I thought how hyporcritical when I didn't ignore her years ago.. But I didn't let it ruin my day...it just proved to me how screwed up the JW thinking is.. and how they think they are so superior and really enjoy any opportunity to look down on others not of the JW beliefs..

CO discusses: Higher Education, Baptism Nullification, No Sense of Urgency
by doinmypart inhere are my notes from the biannual co visit.
the notes are from the co meeting with elders & ms 2006 service year outline.
the topics from wts are sense of urgency, higher education, independent thinking, marital arrg, invalid baptisms.. sense of urgency - concern among fds that some are losing their urgency, they don't believe we're in the last days.

Christians should regard education as a means to an end. In these last days, their purpose is to serve Jehovah as much and as effectively as possible. If, in the country where they live, minimal or even high school education will only allow them to find jobs providing insufficient income to support themselves as pioneers, then supplementary education or training might be considered. This would be with the specific goal of full-time service.
This teaching to me is especially disturbing...It sounds so much like JWs are supposed to be like thoughtless robots in every part of their lives....Life becomes so meaningless... working only waiting for a God to reward you for your service.. A service that has been directed by a man-made organization...When I first read that paragraph ,, it made my shudder to think I actually thought that way for a while..and makes me so grateful I got out before I wasted my life and my kids lives in that robatic way of life.

My account of a trip to the 1969 District Assembly
by RunningMan inwell, i've decided to try my hand at a different type of writing.
my atheist's book of bible stories is nearly complete, so i thought i would write the epic masterpiece history of my family, from the time that they came to canada until today.
i am calling the book "east of edenwold" (which is a small town in saskatchewan).
