)
Well, I'll wish her a "Happy Birthday". But won't we have to do it all over again on Tuesday? I'm not even going to try and guess her age.

Hello Lola. Are you bored again? Why aren't you at the meeting?

Does anyone remember the fad of not saying "amen" at the end of a prayer? I think it started in the late 80s. What are some other fads that you remember?

an inactive, non-baptized person told my sister-in-law (faded, non-baptized) that the witnesses no longer believe that armeggedon is going be a world destruction.
does anyone know where she would get this sort of idea from?
this person is more in contact with active jws than we are.
Willy, Similar, but wrong country.

Mary, This person is one of those "forever" studies. On again, off again, never coming to baptism. Doing just enough to stay firmly perched on the fence. Using both sides when needed. This person actually counselled us on how to be a spiritual person.
Erich, maybe that's why the rumour was appealling to her. She's not baptized.

after many months of letting the junk pile up, me and my husband set out to tackle cleaning up the garage today so that i could start parking my car in there again as the cold weather is coming.. as we were working he said to me "okay these jehovah's witnesses books have to go".
when we first moved in three years ago, i had taken all of my jw books and put them into a storage container out in the garage.
at that point i felt like i was betraying jehovah if i threw out the books.. well three years later and i said "okay, but first we must rip out my name out of them all".
Good for you. We've been out for about 14 years and just the other day I found an old territory slip, an old watchtower subscription slip and an old field service slip! Those things are everywhere! Unfortunately, I used to use them as bookmarks and I have alot of books. Oh, I forgot. There was also an old watchtower in the box. And, my husband's old talks. The silly fellow read them and had nightmares that night. (We do still have some of our old books, and I wouldn't let my husband throw his talks away)

what a joke, he was abusive and kidnapped the children / put her and the kids though hell......... a real jerk..... and he is the one some poor soul will go to for guidance!
this cult makes up their own rules as they go along.
Arwen, Hope tomorrow's better..

Blondie, thank you. It took quite a few years before they gave up on us. I've heard a few doozies myself. I think the wildest one was that, in the system we'll be able to fly. The sister was quite indignant when I told her that it wasn't biologically possible. She said, "But, the angels fly!"
Fullofdoubtnow, thanks, the story probably has no creditable source. But, as we know, the Society has been known to float possibilities around to test what reception they get. If this is the case, someone else, somewhere, will hear it too.
