I agree Metatron. Word of mouth is becoming the preferred method (again).
The WTS just can't keep going as it is. It doesn't take a prophet to understand that writing on the wall.

advertising and communication.
the book ends with these words:.

an inactive, non-baptized person told my sister-in-law (faded, non-baptized) that the witnesses no longer believe that armeggedon is going be a world destruction.
does anyone know where she would get this sort of idea from?
this person is more in contact with active jws than we are.
Erich, Although, like yourself, I never accepted that ALL non-JWs would be destroyed. The vast majority of JWs do think that everyone that is not an ACTIVE, baptized JW will be destroyed. (With the exception of minor children). This was the teaching from the platform, in both talks and magazines, all the time that I was an active JW. In fact. The majority of the congregation feared for their life if they even missed a few meetings. You were only as good as your last time slip.

i think it is interesting that jesus preaches the gospel message (including that he is the culmination of the law) and yet teaches the following:.
17 and when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, good master, what shall i do that i may inherit eternal life?
mark 10:18.
Qcmbr, I always took it that Jesus didn't actually fulfill the Law until his death. If that's the case, then the Law was still in effect when he was speaking to that man. But, I really can't remember. It's been a long time since I've thought on this stuff.
Glad to see you posting more.

That's interesting. I never knew what the rationale was behind the phenomena. It just seemed weird and was rather confusing to not hear an "amen". What was really funny is the people who believed strongly in an audible "amen" would say it really loud out in the audience.
Blondie, I sent you a pm. But I'm not sure if my pm's are going anywhere. Did you get it?

Pizza. Get pizza. You wouldn't like the snow if you had it as many months as we do. It's very restrictive. Hard to get around in. But, the thing I dislike the most about snow is that it's consistently accompanied by cold.

I hated streetwork. I'm currently not listening to anything. Just thinking about heading outside to wash the car. The snow has melted and the sun is shining.

The fad I was referring to was, the speaker not saying "amen". At a D.C. the person saying the prayer just quit speaking. When we looked up, he was walking off the stage. Everyone was momentarily confused. Then it spread like wildfire through the congregations. Then fizzled.

i wanted to figure out approximately how many magazines are thrown into the trash (for one year).
i got some almost useless statistics from jw-media.org to work with.
the statistics are for the year 2004. watchtower printing = (approx) 26.4 million.
No, no, Mary. It's recycled information they use.
