  I think the GB is a puppet show. They're the face you see, but not necessarily the moving force. I have nothing to back up this point. It's just a gut feeling I have.

  ok, so jws believe that the beginning of armageddon comes when the last of the governing body passes away....right?.

  so, you'd think, "hey, those guys are old farts now.

  surely there can only be a few left, what are they,like 100 years old?".

  Have you been enjoying the Daniel Book?

  the society's reasoning on the book of daniel gets pretty thin in on chapter 15............it jumps from the time of the romans under aurelian, all the way to britain, germany, etc.

  within one verse.. jesus applied daniel 11: 31 to the time of the roman siege and the destruction of jerusalem....but of course the society adds to this and includes an entire modern fulfillment which requires a large amount of "faith" in their interpretation.. none of the events they talk about in chapter 15 are reflected in any meaningful way in daniel's prophecy...........i get the impression even our conductor is just going through the motions on this chapter.. the logic gets better in verse 43 of chapter 11............regarding the "treasures of egypt, the libyans, and the ethiopians..............and trying to apply this to our time.. have any of you been enjoying the daniel book?

  The false pride of a "Window Washer"

  back when my sister and i were regular pioneers in the late 80's, there were many things that caught my ear.

  i don't usually make an effort to remember them, but i did yesterday.. i was sitting at a red light yesterday.

  i happened to look to the right and i saw a middle aged black man washing the windows at the strip mall......... ken and debbie mccarthy were two regular pioneers in our congregation.

  I agree with you. No matter how good a job you do, at whatever you do, it isn't going to make people think you're religion is great. When the bank teller does her job well, I don't ask her what church she goes to. I don't even think about religion. etc., etc. for all the other jobs, except maybe Pastor.

  Hello, I'm new here

  i left the jw's in 1990 and officially left or at least decided never to return again in 1993. i announced that i'd rather die in armageddon than live with these people.

  they don't want to speak to me much anymore.. but i'm concerned because i have a 4 yr old child and i don't want to attend any church.

  nothing against those who do.. but should i go for my child even though i will stare into outerspace until its over or is this a worse example than not attending at all?.
