  HELP PROSECUTE THE PERPS...

  this post is inspired by a prior thread re 'what to do when you hear about a predator'... .

  for those who may not know, i am a civil attorney whose practice is limited to sexual molestation litigation.. at present, my firm represents a number of abuse survivors who were molested by those in authority in various jw congregations.

  these cases are pending.. in the course of investigating the factual background related to the clients i represent, i have stumbled across a great number of reports of abuse within the context of jw congregations.

  What 'crutches' have you employed to break the mind control?

  once we determined that the 'truth' was not, there was much more to do in getting deprogrammed.

  i have become aware that i have used a few mental games to 'unlock' from the watchtower mindmeld.

  GB led by lawyers?

  if all of the men on the gb were born into or raised within the wts walls, it can pretty much means they have been insulated from the real world.

  other than the lawyers (who else would have a lot of experience living in the real world?

  ) who else would be directing what gets printed or not?

  would you feel the same way if there were absolutely no religious influence on the matter pro or con?.

  regardless of your belief, does every adult have a fundimental right to marry anyone of his or her choosing, regardless of gender?.

  Here's another issue and has been known to happen. Say for example you have 2 people in a gay longterm relationship. One of them has family who have nothing to do with him because he is gay. He then dies but leaves everything in his will to the one who truly loved him - his partner. But the family contests the will and gets what they want? Why because they are legally recognised as his family.

  Sherry brought this up in another thread this week. It is for this reason and others that I support gay marriage on moral grounds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The above came before-- i don't remember who posted it.... This example wouldn't occur is 'real life'-- the will would trump the 'family', unless the will lacked the proper probate requirements to be processed as a VALID will. If not a VALID will, then fam would inherit, probably, cuz the decedent died intestate-- without a proper will.

  i was told that ( by the husband) that child molesting is brought up often at the meeting and how it is up to the family if the police should be notified.

  now i know it is not favored to call the police but has anyone heard these talks on molesting at the meetings?

  anything about molestings?.

  Of the ohhhh sayyyy 2600 or so calls i've fielded from abuse survivors from JW congregations, i have YET to hear ONE tell of being told "you may report to police of you wish", UNLESS the offender is not in the org.

  I just don't think it's happening.

  Can a Sexual Predator Be Cured?

  the state of california is conducting an experiment by releasing some sexual predators, who have undergone treatment at a state hospital into some communities.

  one such example is cary verse, who is now in bay point.

  convicted of sexual assault of three boys and a man and treated in atascadero state hospital, he left treatment in feb. 2004 and is now on conditional release.
