i was watching dr. phil yesterday and they had these women on there who have their daughters entered in beauty pagent contests looking like miniture hookers.
i was stunned when i saw pictures of the one 8 year old girl: more make-up than tammy faye baker, hair pieces, false teeth, fake tan and totally slutty outfits.
she looked like a plastic barbie.
yup. Have replayed that scene a thousand times, and re-played what i WISH i had said.
In actuality, all i said was 'yes sir, they do.'
(However, my opposing counsel, who was old and bald, turned and said, "..and they still let bald old men like you and me in the courtroom as well, your Honor".) I've loved that old fart ever since...
ok so i read in walter martin's the kingdom of the cults how he claims to use the following method to give a testimony to jehovah's witnesses who come to his door periodically, and frankly i find it a bit dubious, despite his claims that he has successfully done it many times.
he calls this method "subliminal seeding" (pg.
487-8) [a dubious title already]:.
Probably whether it would 'work' or not to plant a 'seed' would depend on variable you wouldn't know... and how effective/sincere the speaking ability of the householder.
Some people are naturally 'open', some are not.
If it felt contrived, surely the listener would feel manipulated.
i heard something and i would like to know the truth so i'll ask this question..... how often do you bathe and change your underwear?.
i heard that people from certain places don't bathe for days and only change their underwear when it gets really deteriorated.. .

Reminds me of an acquaintance, who, when asked what plans/hopes/dreams he had for his 6 year old daughter, replied "super-model"...!

It irritates the crap outa me that we continue to tell our daughters that their worth is about their LOOKS alone.
I have an 8 year old daughter. SHE WILL NEVER hear this from me, and i will insulate her from it as much as possible.
Along the same lines:
During my first full blown trial as a 'baby lawyer' in federal court (at 27 yoa), the federal judge looked down his nose at me, underneath his reading glasses, and said,
"Do they let pretty little baby girls like you practice LAW now?"
This was before my client, the jury, opposing counsel, and a full courtroom, immediately prior to my opening statement.
I wanted to floor to open up and CONSUME me.....
