ie: saw and did all of the above to the detriment of my own well-being at times -
but when someone is intent on committing this act, unfortunately, it's sometimes only a matter of time and opportunitybefore they follow through on it.
i just wanted to drop a quick note.
last thursday a good friend of mine jumped off of a freeway overpass and killed herself.
ironically it was the same overpass that just 5 years before i had stood atop and climbed the fence with similar thoughts in my head when my family had initially disowned me.

well, my mom is critically ill, i'm afraid.
she can't breathe, it's a constant battle, i don't know what to do.
talesin ~ I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I stayed by my mom's side for 11 days, just holding her hand, singing, talking even though she couldn't answer - Hope you will be able to go be with her - we only have one mom in life.
I send warm wishes for her improved health,
4JWY.

(((chevy))) and (((all others))) who have experienced this sadness in your lives. Yes, time eases our pain, but it can never be forgotton.
....To the happy memories

i understand that some years ago in usa that a jw breached medical confidence by telling the elders about the medical conditions of a dentists patatient, the patient threatened to sue the dentist ,but then realize that it wasn't the dentist's fault.. any experiences like that.
Yes - don't ever expect an elder to keep a confidence. We met with two elders and shared personal medical info regarding a family member and stated firmly that we expect this to be kept between just the two of them. We called one of them hours later to again confirm the confidentiality. That elder was totally fine with the idea and said he would contact the other elder and remind him. Next day at the meeting, we were informed that it was too late - elder #1 had already taken it upon himself to inform the entire elder body consisting of about 10 men.
- We were told that if there is ANYTHING that affects a person's SERVICE - that the entire elder body needs to be informed of it.
We hung in there for about 6 months thereafter before we really woke up and knew it was time to "WALK ON"...... Those elders as well as the other 10 have never contacted us to try to bring us back to the fold.
it would make him the greatest cyclist ever.
he has just gone into the lead in the tour de france and his team look incredibly strong (it is a team sport).. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/cycling/3874523.stm.

The mountains come tomorrow - wish we could all enjoy a "Le Tour" party together!
hey!
ever read the wt and awake articles and get tired of seeing words and prases like "the society's counsel on..."
all the, "DO WE NOT......... questions such as ....... APPRECIATE THE FOOD AT THE PROPER TIME SUPPLIED BY THE SLAVE?" and usage of that NOT constantly !
i received this catalog in the mail and some of the saying on the shirts are so funny.
#1, i see you're playing stupid again .
look's like you're winning .
We bought a t-shirt recently that says -
BAD INFLUENCE
and my hubby is having a fun time with it. He was wearing it outside doing yard work last week and I had just told him to take it off as it was getting stained by the shrubs - no more than a few minutes later, we were "flower bombed" by two sisters coming by for the first contact in two years - dang, if only I'd not had him take the shirt off - we would've loved to see their reaction to it. His words to them might have led them to the same conclusion, shirt or not tho.
BTW - the shirt is made by the Lost company and it has a small tag on the inside that reads, " THE TRUTH HURTS" Who's the entrepeneur on JWD that's marketing these?
the big five for life.
how many of the big five did you see?
where were the big five?
Very interesting ideas/thoughts!
We're so happy to finally be able to think about such things and ponder our life and those "Big Fives". I'm one of those that is still formulating my list but my hubby just fulfilled his biggest of the five - cycling through Italy. A life changing experience as he soaked up the warmth of the culture, enjoyed the food and wine, the kind folks, and the love of cycling over there.
- Thanks for the post
it's been quite a while since i've written anything here, maybe a couple of years.
some may remember me, seeker4, from the old h2o, or the early years of this one.
i was a jw for about 35 years, ms, elder for about 15, pioneer, all of it.
S4 ~ thank you so much for all of your great insights shared!
Just printed your post for my husband to enjoy with his coffee this morning
Warm regards,

for those that no longer go to the kh --i was curious as to what you have done with your field service bookbag?.
for a long time i could not look at it without feeling guilty, then a couple of times i looked at with contempt.... after awhile it mysteriously ended up in the dumpster including... the books, tracts, wt's, awakes, and return visits slips that was in it.. where is your bookbag right now?.

Kept 'em in the closet for a while thinking that there may be times that we'd use the men's leather ones for other business matters, carrying paperwork etc to an appointment or something. I would feel SICK every time I'd see them in there though and finally did bag them up and they went off to the Salvation Army. Didn't think any brothers would go to their thrift store lookin' for a new bag, but again felt some person in the business world could make use of one. But, then again, would they need to be shopping at the thrift store?
Just the other day, helping to clean out my son's desk - (per the messy desk thread, I got motivated-thank you all) - I found his littlest thin magazine bag from his youngest years, and we happily tossed it.
