bem ~ good idea, but the only goats allowed are the residents as it is a senior community! (no offense to seniors, I love 'em)
Corvin - now we know where that pioneer sister spent her mornings when she went on r.v.'s by herself.....
CG ~ I figured most would think the dog was buried under it - but, there was never a pet in the home as that was too much of a "responsibility" and couldn't be fit in around the JW life's schedule
Lady Lee ~ who knows? We're talking about the man that followed the "guidelines set forth" on all minutia of WTS thought, was a zealot preacher of the good news of the downfall of this system on a daily basis, and builds this? Previously to JW, he had been a Mason....?
Thanks for your ideas all - 4JWY

I think it's proof that he can't build a stone pillar or a stone barbecue, or a stone fence, or whatever it is he set out to do and then gave up on.
Nina ~
how insightful! You are absolutely correct on this. The yard was described as the "garden of disarray" and has a similar stone wall nearby the "pyramid".
When we were active jdubs, I'm trying to remember if we'd ever heard about Russell and the pyramid or if that's only since we left?
Who would want a pile of rocks & cement piled in their back yard? What a piece of crap.
Nos ~ exactly. This brother was my father - and I, in recent years, when still JW, would ask about the "headstone" in the yard, say that it looked ridiculous out there and what the heck was it? I never really got an answer. -

Appreciated all the thoughts so far -
Special K, what an interesting site, thank you - I think I wish that's what I thought it was.
I have leaned towards your thought Ohiocowboy - of the pyramid. But, what do you think the significance of it would be to a brother?

August 15th WT - Eliminate your unnecessary hobbies and projects
by truthseeker inthe third study article in the august 15th wt is entitled "tired, but not tiring out.".
it is of interest that the borg are further reducing the quality of life for their members by the following paragraph (pg 24, para 11).
sometimes what complicates our lives is, not the pursuit of more things, but what we do with the things we already have.. some may experience emotional fatigue as a result of challenging health problems, the loss of loved ones, or other.

When "in the world" my dad was a champion bicycle racer, and his own dad won the bronze medal in the cycling road race of the Olympics in 1912. But then- becoming a JW,- he tried to deny his past and that it had ever meant ANYTHING to him. In his late 70's he slowly brought out a photo here and there of those racing days and displayed them in the living room, yet felt ill at ease for "friends" to see them. Before he "eliminated" himself, he told my husband to keep riding his bike and for my son to keep playing golf. It was then that we realized that he really KNEW that it was wrong to have been so influenced by the WTS to give up everything meaningful to self that makes one who they are.
Our PO told us our son was spending too much time fishing, and of himself he said that keeping balanced, he could go fishing once a year and it wouldn't even matter if he caught a fish!
