I worked on a (GASP!) church today!
by stillin ini would have turned down the work 2 years ago but now i see that religion is a racket and a snare.
(inside joke) the pastor seemed to be a nice guy and he didn't try to recruit me or anything.
the devil is laughing his socks off, i suppose, but i don't feel anything except paid in full for my service..

For NFL fans
by jamesmahon inso i got into the nfl in the early/mid 90s.
back then there were some great running backs - happening onto a lions game late on sunday night over here and seeing barry sanders was what got me into it.
but it seems the running game is dead.

And what about the lateral pass? Why don't teams use it more? Is it any more high risk than a normal pass?
There is a risk involved with it because there could be a turnover if it isn't completed. Today it's called a backward pass, not a lateral. It's usually used as a trick play now.

Once defences learn how to stop the pass there will be a shift back to running the ball more. Who knows when that will happen.
By the way, here is a great website where you can submit questions and get an answer from Vic Ketchman, who currently works for the Green Bay Packers (just so you know, he doesn't respond to every question, but he does read each one). He's been covering pro football for about 40 years. He has also worked for the Steelers and the Jaguars, so he's got a following from a wide area. http://www.packers.com/news-and-events/ask-vic.html

I agree with Mall Cop. I will add this, which relates to what he said. Only by living in the now can you really know who/what you are - discovering that allows you to really enjoy life without the burden of judging everyone and everything else around you.

Step #1 in your new life: stop defining yourself in any way.
Step #2: don't allow anyone else to define who you are.
Step #3: find out who/what you are when there is no "story of me" running through your mind.
Step #4: be present without defining, naming, or judging what is unfolding before you.

"You are so Focussed on The Past that you can't see the Blessings in front of your Eyes!"
by BluesBrother inthat statement has been made to me recently - i think it is a sound-bite from the new dvd about jerusalem's fall.. hmm.. i need to reflect on a reply .
several thoughts come to mind but it has to be constructive and form a reasoned argument rather than a smart answer.. what blessings?
are we unreasonably obsessed with the past?

One could just as easily say that you are so focused on the future that you can't see the blessings in front of your eyes - no difference. What blessings? That you exist, that you "are". Life in its fullness is always now, never in the past or in the future. Whatever happened is over and done with and the future is always the future. Life exists now, which means that whatever you are in the truest sense exists now as well. Can you sense your own existence without interpreting it in any way? I suggest that that is a blessing, to know that you are, without defining or limiting that in any way. Cast aside any interpretations or teachings of what you are and simply sense the fact of your own existence.

This reminds me of my brother's wedding when he put on his bow tie and discovered it was way way too small. And then later he looked at his 8 year old nephew only to see his bow tie was huge! They still laugh about that 36 years later.

Ultimately it is the child who should stop the abuse according to the GB!
by life is to short inon page 171 of the "learn from the great teacher" book published in 2003 it shows a picture of a very cute little girl holding a ragged ann doll.
she is sitting on a chair in her bedroom with her hand out toward a man that is coming toward her.. the paragraphs say "so just as jesus needed protection, you also need to be protected from grown-ups-and even from other children-who may try to have sex with you.
usually, these people will pretend to be your friends.

Outlaw, seriously...are you 13 years old? it would be ok if you were funny. Which your not.
His sense of humor zeroes directly to the heart of matters with a jagged and rusty blade that sticks it where it hurts the most. It's not his fault that you only see what you want to see.
