Let's hope that snowball that's starting to roll down the mountain will gain even greater momentum now. This should be interesting.

For NFL fans
by jamesmahon inso i got into the nfl in the early/mid 90s.
back then there were some great running backs - happening onto a lions game late on sunday night over here and seeing barry sanders was what got me into it.
but it seems the running game is dead.

I think I can see teams using lateral/backward passing as in rugby at some point.
You see it at the very end of a game as a desperation move, and it almost always fails. Coaches are aware of the riskiness of backward passing, and that's why it's so rarely used.
By the way, I know I will be hated for this but I am a Patriots fan.
No hatred from me, a lifelong Packers fan.

Consciousness an Epiphenomena of Matter?
by frankiespeakin inin philosophy of the mind this is much debated and not understood,, modern experimentational evidence seem to be pointing towards this as true.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/epiphenomenalism.
arguments fora large body of neurophysiological data seems to support epiphenomenalism.
some of the oldest such data is thebereitschaftspotential or "readiness potential" in which electrical activity related to voluntary actions can be recorded up to two seconds before the subject is aware of making a decision to perform the action.

I worked on a (GASP!) church today!
by stillin ini would have turned down the work 2 years ago but now i see that religion is a racket and a snare.
(inside joke) the pastor seemed to be a nice guy and he didn't try to recruit me or anything.
the devil is laughing his socks off, i suppose, but i don't feel anything except paid in full for my service..

And what about the lateral pass? Why don't teams use it more? Is it any more high risk than a normal pass?
There is a risk involved with it because there could be a turnover if it isn't completed. Today it's called a backward pass, not a lateral. It's usually used as a trick play now.

Once defences learn how to stop the pass there will be a shift back to running the ball more. Who knows when that will happen.
By the way, here is a great website where you can submit questions and get an answer from Vic Ketchman, who currently works for the Green Bay Packers (just so you know, he doesn't respond to every question, but he does read each one). He's been covering pro football for about 40 years. He has also worked for the Steelers and the Jaguars, so he's got a following from a wide area. http://www.packers.com/news-and-events/ask-vic.html

I agree with Mall Cop. I will add this, which relates to what he said. Only by living in the now can you really know who/what you are - discovering that allows you to really enjoy life without the burden of judging everyone and everything else around you.

and am so glad to be a sinner now.
Step #1 in your new life: stop defining yourself in any way.
Step #2: don't allow anyone else to define who you are.
Step #3: find out who/what you are when there is no "story of me" running through your mind.
Step #4: be present without defining, naming, or judging what is unfolding before you.
