That's only about an hour from my home. I'll try to stop by sometime.

I remember the Cuban missile crisis vividly even though I was 11 at the time. -I was scared out of my mind, and couldn't sleep for weeks. Thanks for the history lesson, fulltimestudent. It's reassuring to know that there were some level headed people on the Soviet side when it mattered the most.

Ok. I'm confused and slightly stunned.
by Left in the Cold inon pages 54 & 55 of the "what has religion done for mankind" book the following quotes can be found.
considering adams decision to eat the fruit with eve it is written, "the woman was not to consult her husband first on the matter of eating, although god had made him first and had used him to construct the woman concerning the forbidden tree.
no, but she was to exercise woman's rights and show him she had better judgement.".

So utterly hurt.
by LouBelle intoday something happened that hurt me more than the jwks, more than the shunning, more than my sexual molestation, more than my hellish years at caxton and more than the year i've just had.. the moment i was told this, i felt like my insides had been ripped, torn, shredded and my heart squeezed of it's very life.
i put my head in my hands and for the first time in my life let out a primal gut wrenching wail.. my father had asked my gran why she has been treating me the way she has (which hasn't been very nice).
he though it strange considering how in the past i have helped her and given her so much.

All Things Pagan
by Unbrainwashed publisher1 inwhy is the wt org selective concerning things with pagan origin?
for instance wedding rings they have no ban on wearing them and some wtnss say it is because it is commonly accepted now and no longer have significant pagan roots, but is that the point?
if satan himself starts up something popular and as time moves on it loses its original satanic flavor it is ok for "true christians" - i love how j dubs qualify that, to adopt it now as a practice?

I asked a JW recently about the pagan origin of her wedding ring and she said it was OK because it provided her with a measure of protection. My response was "Expediency makes it OK even if it's pagan?"

So sorry for your loss, Jeff. I registered as a donor in 2007 when my sister-in-law got cancer, but a match for her wasn't found and she subsequently died. I'm still in the system and hope that my name will get called saying that I am a match for someone in need.
