I'm one of those with damaged hearing as well, so a well placed microphone is greatly appreciated. Another critical thing that helps those of us with hearing loss is not having the background music overpower the spoken word, which happens a lot. For many of us simply turning up the volume only makes it more frustrating when the background music is too loud to begin with. Subtitles may be something to consider - just sayin'.
