  does anyone else find the term "by jove" insulting ?.

  personally i find the use of such an abreviation makes my skin crawl - especially in the context it is normally used !

  my friend next door and i, went over to an old aquaintance's home that we had worked with many years ago.

  he lives about 25 miles from here.

  when we got to his door and knocked, my buddy said,"we are jehovah's witnesses and we wanted to talk to you.....you should have seen the look on his face(he didn't recognize us) and he said i'm not interested and tried to close the door.
