I love you guys and your videos but have to admit that the only time I run across you is during self-promotion. Sure would be nice to see you guys respond to the threads you start, to emails, etc., maybe even getting down in the trenches and helping one on one at times. I think I'm friends with you on Facebook, per your request, but you only show up about yourselves. Maybe that's not fair, but I've lost interest due to it. Best wishes though.

Low Day For Me Today
by pale.emperor inhi guys.
it's been about 4 or 5 weeks since i was disfellowshipped.
so far it's been easy, i enjoyed being left alone, no one bothering me, no one telling me i need to do more, need to reach out, questioning why i didnt go on the ministry, and the fact that my ex-wifes family cant talk to me even if they wanted to.

I bet you could have spent that time away from the meeting today getting to know some new friends that actually care about you instead of being mentally and emotionally tormented by a destructive cult and toxic family. I understand the pull, but I don't think that everyone can (maybe you can) live a life that they don't believe in and know is toxic just for others. I think that the pull at your head and heart while trying to fake something like that might drive you mad, and for what? So that you can get toxic people back and be beholden to a lifestyle that is JW even if you fade, because they now are to shun even those inactive that don't live up to JW standards? It is a game that you cannot win as I see it. I say this not to discourage you, but because I care. Maybe you don't need or want that right now, and I understand.
In less than a year I have more friends and people that care about me than I ever had while in. Yesterday I went to a birthday of a 4 year old little girl and had fun and got to know new people. Today I went to a baptism celebration (the event wasn't religious in the slightest, basically a barbecue with lots of people) for a little 7 month old girl and met family of the hosts who were the only people we knew, and barely, and made new friends. Heck, a guy from Colorado invited me out if I'm ever out that way.
Good people are out there that would like to be your friend. They don't have rules and regulations for you to uphold, and they don't want or need you to be entirely fake. The new life that my wife and I have is amazing. I want that for you and your little girl. I don't want her to be raised as a little JW drone. I don't want her friends and family to depend on the cult obedience. I don't want the relationship between you two to be influenced by toxic religion and people. I'd love to see you two ride off into the sunset and leave those people behind. I'd be happy to be a friend to you if you lived nearby. I'm sure others would to. We're here right now trying to be that in the ways that we can.
I'm sorry you're having a low day today. The journey does have some of those even for those of us that are out and happy with it and not trying to get back in for any reason. I just can't see how every day of being around the cult can't result similarly in a low day though. They really have no high to offer.

Dude, you better hope you get her back, and then never let them cross paths again. Her behavior is sketchy as can be, and juck Fehovah's Witnesses for acting like that. Be strong man, and keep those two apart. She will absolutely poison your child against you.

They Don't Have A Secret Elder's Book
by pale.emperor in"they don't have a secret elder's book" so said my mother.
"all of our publications are open to everyone.
we all have the same information and nothing is hidden in this religion.".

I always thought it was strange that they had a secret pioneer book too. I could never understand why they wouldn't want all public ministers to be as encouraged and qualified as the next. If there was some magic book that helped people become more effective public ministers, why only give it to a select few? The hierarchies in the Borg are so obvious.
P.E., I'm sorry your mom is so deep into the dissonance. I'd like to say it was a rarity, but it's not. And JWs like to say that it is Satan that blinds the minds of people. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

I was on JW Talk maybe 2-3 years ago and that poem was posted. I spoke out about how ridiculous it was and don't remember getting much support. One member there was married to an unbeliever and sent me a pm thanking me. Even when I was still in I couldn't stand such bull poo. It's a very hostile poem. I hate their attitudes.

Thinking of you, your mentally disabled brother, and your daughter, completely breaks my heart. There is a very slim chance at some point that they will see you again, but you and I know the harsh reality for most. I'm so sorry. My family shuns me, and my wife's shuns her too, after we DA'd last year. They know it was all our choice but they have to shun. Our families are punitive enough that they probably don't want anything to do with us on that reason alone. Rules are more important than anything.

Fading 2.0
by pale.emperor inthe following examples are true.
witnessed by myself and many many other jw's of my age generation.. they're examples of a successful fade, and a failed fade and what we can learn from them.. the successful fade.
sister c - she gets baptized at 19yo.

I think Sister C also got the benefit of being an elder's daughter in the hierarchy for many years. It puts some people (particularly attractive, popular people) on a pedestal that's hard to knock them off of. For a tragedy to strike one of the beautiful people makes it even more tragic, and then the scenario you outlined takes place.
Nice observations!

Why are anniversaries allowed but not birthdays?
by hyperpen inthe scripture quotes aside, i was always told that we don't celebrate birthdays because that is a celebration of the self, which has no place in jehovah's organization.
then why celebrate anniversaries?
anniversary celebrations are about the joining of two selves, isn't that twice as selfish?.

Marriage is God's arrangement. Birth isn't, see Adam and Eve. Why not?
