I've been producing content since mid-2017 through my podcasts and YouTube channel. It's a ton of work and like the OP said it takes an emotional toll. Some create content because it is part of their own healing process and at a point they're finished because they just don't have anything left to offer. Others create content and see how much work it takes and decide they'd rather put that time and effort into other things that move them forward in life. There's a lot of drama in the ex-JW community and that can take a toll on people and become exhausting. Let's face it, leaving a cult doesn't mean you're healthy, it just means you left an unhealthy environment, not that you left the residue of that environment behind.
I've had my moments when I was tired too or got exhausted by dealing with toxic people that have come my way. I've always wanted to do it to help other people though and someone letting me know how what I did helped them or maybe Watchtower doing something awful might light my fire again. I've been very consistent, and I've been able to do more and more. Last year I got to speak at a conference and did some work with ICSA. Now I work one on one with people professionally to help them heal and that really gets to the heart of things and keeps me going. I also run group meetups every week. I'm trying to create new ideas for content too as keeping it fresh is a goal. But it's definitely a slog if you want to keep going. I try to stay out of the ex-JW activist drama too and kind of keep to myself as much as possible. But it isn't easy to do something like this long term.

Are Ex-JW's Suffering From Burn Out?
by IWant2Leave inthe reason that i ask is, in the two years on this forum and you tube, i've seen ex-jw's either drop off entirely or make fewer and fewer videos.
i know the emotional toll can be high.
is that the sole reason, or is it cost (video) or do you think it's external pressure (legal or family)?

I think that seeing more people we care about leave the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses is a dream that we all have. Just today I had two people reach out that were thinking of going back reach out to me. Thankfully I was able to talk with them and to help them see the realities of the cult so that the fear they were brainwashed with didn't lead them back. Talk about "dogs returning to their vomit".
I hate to hold out false hope but you never know who might wake up someday. I'm sure my brother was excited when I woke up. I don't know if more people are leaving, but more people are being vocal about it, and that means that more opportunities exist to wake up and find their way out of the cult. Talk about a resurrection, seeing someone you care about rise from the dead so to speak and find their real life is exciting. -

Two Doctors Present Local Data from California

Those doctors made a number of valid points but if you disagree with the Covid narrative that promotes the highest levels of fear you are shunned and labeled an apostate. Their video was removed because it didn't conform. So much misinformation, so many fallacious models have been put forth, so much fearmongering has been used, but you won't see it censored in the same way.
The facts, of which we have limited quantity, can be interpreted in only one way, the way of "The Truth". Listen, obey, and be blessed. ;)

Snowbird, you sound like a nice person. In fact, I'd say likely a better person than your god so don't sell yourself short. We're literally on a thread about a guy that was among a handful of people to survive your god murdering every man, woman, child, dog, cat, horse, pretty much anything with a face on earth, handing a lot of asses back to everyone in a genocide unlike any other. Let's not pretend that he's nice, and on the other hand maybe some need to appreciate that others may have more to them than a simple belief or lack thereof.

"People would be so receptive right now" = Translation: People are scared and vulnerable right now so maybe we take advantage of them at their lowest. They are feeling bad so we can sell them our hope and rope the poor bastards in.
JWs are the ambulance chasers of religion. -

Daily calls would indeed be "peculiar" outreach. I like what the girl next door said, they're trying to flatten their own curve. There is NO reason for daily calls by them. None. That's control, not some sort of loving check-in.

Legal Concerns About "Zoom" Meetings!
by Atlantis inthis whole "zoom" thing has got me wondering whether some of it is legal or not.
if a person has to dress up for a zoom meeting the way the watchtower dictates, doesn't this really go "beyond" cult?.
even the cults who committed mass suicide were able to dress the way they wanted for their meetings.

If they show up willingly and voluntarily, they can't complain. And everyone's surprise about them dressing up at home is ridiculous. Most probably want their video on to see their friends. They see it as part of respectful worship. I think they're absolutely a cult, as do many others, but that doesn't mean everything they do is culty. The faux outrage seems like a giant reach to me.
