How much more they will do to someone who is a child molestors. Albeit meetings and fs is not a daycare and parents should not trust anyone with their precious kids -and then blame watchtower.

  @Fisherman - Do you personally have the opinion that Jehovah's Witnesses handle child sexual abuse allegations in a way that protects children to the best of human abilities? If not, where do you think they fall short? If you do, please highlight the ways in which they best serve children in these cases through their policies.

  People Asking Me To Help Them Leave

  i dont know if it's due to the last convention, the recent broadcasts, the internet or just plain fatigue - but since the convention i've had a few people contact me via facebook messenger asking how i am then cutting to the chase asking me what it's like "on the outside" or "how did you adjust after leaving?

  " and asking me how they can leave the wt but keep their families.. my reply is always the same, i show real genuine interest and concern and listen to their situation.

  then i suggest a fade, how to fade, to ignore or reject elders visits, to not talk about their doubts to active jws under any circumstances and finally point them to this site.

  god would not say: “you should not eat from the tree of good and bad, which would make you like me” because through jesus he said: ‘you must become like me by imitating the qualities of sun whose only concern is giving (of light and warmth) which means having no expectation of anything from anybody’ (mathew 5:44-48) .

  this also means we should have no human teachers because we can have answer to any questions by ourselves, through inference.

  Oh dear flying spaghetti monster, deegee's post are all "exceptions" but then you talk about how a lion once saved a lamb? You might want to check the meaning of the word "exceptions".

  Also, throwing Forbes around just because you deliver their magazine doesn't build credibility. (Obviously I have no idea what you do there, but my guess is you're not a fact checker.)

  does anyone know if there is a wt reference that says associating with a dfed relative is a conscience matter?

  i am asking because someone is trying to cause trouble and i was hoping there was an article i could point to to shut them up..

  my current personal study is about the resurection.besides the nine well known resurections (the son of the zaraphath widow, the son of the shulamite woman, the man whose body touched elisha's bones, lazarus, jesus, son of the widow nain, the daughter of jairus, dorcas and eutychus).

  there was enoch who god 'transfered' so he wouldn't see death and elijah who god took away in a flaming chariot hidden in a whilwind!

  as well as these there were the holy men ofjerusalem resurrected at the same time as jesus.

  granted, i'm a pimo status, so i normally just play on my cell phone and ignore everything during meetings and assemblies.

  but at the assembly this past weekend, my ears were pricked for two experiences of two sisters dedicating themselves to pioneering.

  this was probably because i was extremely freaked out by both of them.

  Family events (getting old)

  the feeling of being disconnected from my family for so long makes me feel old.

  i think it's because the people i saw all the time when i was younger i don't see to often and you really notice that change in little bits but over time it really shows.

  the last time alot of witness friends i was 16, then i show up at a family event and i'm 28. that's life and i do get it but it really makes me feel old..

  I get what you're saying. My wife and I have clients that we see every 4 weeks and they have had a baby recently. Seeing it/them in monthly intervals makes one notice how fast time goes as that baby changes so fast.

  We don't really ever see anyone from our past so we have no frame of reference there, but it would be super weird to seey mom at some point as she gets older. It will likely never happen though. Don't even know where she lives.

  i dislike long topics......so here it is.. i suffered for my religion, now it's your turn.. when i first left the corporation my life exploded into a suicidal chaos.. my family broke up.

  i lost my so called friends.. luckily, i had worldly friends from all walks of life that supported me, even though they had no idea why i was so suicidal.

  in as much as they hadn't left cults.. i went from the corporation to a baptist church.

  Hey Punko, I agree with lots of what you wrote, but with your depressive thoughts and nihilistic outlook I was wondering how much joy you find. Life tends to have the meaning we give it.

  So what do you enjoy post-cult? What makes you happy, even if we all know the eventuality? I've enjoyed your posts over time, so they meant something to me.

  Biblical incidents that bothered me.

  i wanted to discuss the (supposed) biblical events that disturbed me a lot when i was a jw.

  these incidents were just read and discussed in the kingdom hall as if these are normal and justified, which clearly weren't.

  perhaps this led to my awakening.
