  here's my top five books that helped me considerably to see my way out.

  (1) edward rutherfurd's novel "london" - it dawned on me that generation after generation thought theirs was special in god's eyes, this novel started me thinking.

  (2) crisis of conscience - by you know who, wow!

  my husband and i have been married a little over a year now and it has been the happiest year of my life.

  i have finally found someone that i truly love and that truly loves me.

  he's also my best friend.

  How do you keep from burning out?

  i try not to dwell on this too much, and for the most part im in pretty good spirits.

  at times though i feel like i can't catch up.

  whatever it is that i'm doing whether it's laundry, and house chores, yard work, kids, office work (my job is pretty demanding and nearly every week i have to drive back to the office and work to meet deadlines and work weekends).. don't get me wrong, life is good ,its just i wish at times i could have a maid and a nanny.

  It might sound trite, but you need to have some quiet time that's your own personal space doing what you want to do or interests you.

  Sometimes that's my #1 priority. And nothing else matters at that moment.

  I prioritize, and focus on one thing at a time.. Nothing else matters at that moment. It's the only thing that keeps me from feeling overwhelmed.

  i was told this a lot growing up, anyone have similar experiences, either from family or elders ???.

  i remember telling my mom, well you didin't marry a jw and got married in a catholic church, of course that was different !!

  Absolutely. In fact, my Dad wouldn't speak to me for about a year because I married a Catholic & I had stopped attending meetings.

  if you keep picking your nose, your nostrils will get as big as a horse's!.

  we can use your face for a halloween mask if it freezes suddenly with that expression on it.. how would you feel if your sister died after you said such awful things to her?

  It was actually my Dad who told me that. When I told him I was engaged to be married, he also said "Why don't you break it off with her? If that's the sort of girl you find attractive, there's one who looks just like her at the Kingdom Hall."

  i've been reading this site for years and i need more posts (is this a left over dub-thang like counting time?).

  so taking a page from ozzie's poll, here's my top five.

  1. i got myself doctorates in divinity & metaphysics from the ulc (ulc.org, about $140 - i went for the works) so i could register with the county as a minister to officiate weddings, done 4 so far - i don't charge if you're interested.

  Unbeliever, I was thinking the same thing: they really can't DF me because I never got the big dunk. I kept dragging my feet on that & then bailed out as soon as I could. And it's a good thing, too ... otherwise, they would have nailed me for 1. fornication, 2. drug use, 3. smoking, 4. drunkenness, and 5. a general disregard of local, state & federal laws.

  or do they want the world to fall in around your ears so that you might "turn back to jehovah"?.

  do they think that if you had less happiness in life you would be driven back?.

  my mum once exclaimed very bitterly that i had "landed on my feet" too many times and that i would probably have been back at the kh if things hadn't gone so well in my life.. englishman.
