I never thought it did any good when I prayed. I stopped asking God for help a long time ago. Still, I toss out the occasional 'thank you' as I prepare to eat. Just in case He is actually listening, I figure it won't hurt. I just don't count on getting anything in return.

POLL: If you're not actively a Christian - do you celebrate Easter?

someone mentioned it yesterday, and i was pretty embarassed to have missed that little line on my calendar.
oh, well; since we are not practicing any religion and feel no more affinity toward christianity than toward, say, sikhism, i felt no ache in not partaking in the bunny-rabbit traditions.

One of the other questions I used to ask (which really ticked off the old man and other adults) was this: if Jehovah already knows how it's going to come out, and since He's all-powerful, he would win even if He didn't already know it ... why the heck doesn't He just get it over with instead of monkeying around for all these thousands of years?
Oh, but Dan ... He will act on His time, and no one else's. Instead of questioning His word, you should ...

I have a ham defrosting for tomorrow's dinner, and I boiled eggs for my son to color this afternoon ... but I don't consider myself to be celebrating Easter. I almost forgot it was this weekend, too.
Meanwhile, Mrs. O & the kids just left for the easter Vigil mass a few minutes ago. I guess that means I get to turn the stero up as loud as I want for a couple of hours and have a beer or two.
