  Deadly toys

  whatever happened to to good-ol-days when you had to pay attention to where you threw your lawn darts so that you wouldn't kill anyone?.

  when i was in first grade my family had a set of lawn darts... not the plastic kind... the kind with the heavy steel spike prodruding from the tip.

  i loved to go outside and play with them.

  I always loved the simple fun of playing with a magnifying glass on a bright, sunny day ... you could start all kinds of small fires.

  Oh ... and you know those little green plastic army soldiers? We used to play "napalm" with them. Just add a little gasoline & toss a match on them.

  Fireworks! Boys love fireworks! Take that model airplane that didn't come out quite right and strap a couple of M-80s under the wings ... light the fuses ... and throw it up in the air!

  Slingshots & wrist-rockets were always fun ... especially when there were plenty of birds & squirrels around.

  Kinda like what we heard 25 or 30 years ago about the conflict between Israel & Egypt, Israel & the PLO, Israel & Syria, etc.

  Animal sensors/toll way

  don't trust them!!!!!

  was coming home to indiana from ohio early this morning on the toll road and a deer landed right in front of me...no time to break or swerve and a fraction of a second and amazing leaping skills saved his/her life and maybe mine!!!

  i couldn't help thinking about the fact that i'm not a speeder (hell, i even make complete stops at signs...james dean, i'm not!

  i was watching an old eddie murphy hbo special a few weeks ago where he was talking about relationships.

  in his bit, he went off on how all men cheat on their wives and girlfriends.

  he was adamant that even the nicest of guys will take the opportunity to cheat if given the chance and that women need to understand that this is the way it is, 100% of the time.

  i like to listen to alot of music.

  i am mostly a hard rocker, godsmack, soil, marilyn manson.

  i also like alot of rap, snoop, g-unit, kanye west, xzibit.

  Jehovah's Witness commercial?

  this is my first post although i have been reading on this board for over a year now.

  i just had to post because i saw the most unbelievable thing the other night - a commercial for jehovah's witnesses.

  a couple nights ago i couldn't sleep and i turned on the tv.

  I haven't seen that particular ad, but I have seen a couple of late nite ads for Dubdom. I think it's kinda funny, in light of my questions as a kid about "How come the Dubs aren't on Sunday morning TV like all the other religions?"

  Do you still Pray?

  since i stopped being a jw i haven't prayed.

  so the other day i went to supper at my parent's house who are still jw's, and they prayed before we ate.

  it was a very strange feeling, and it stirred up alot of weird feelings.

  I guess I was never a good Dub. When the old man would ramble on in prayer at dinner, all I could think about was "Jesus Pete ... Hurry up with it, already!" It always seemed like it took him forever to get around to the "amen" part. Meanwhile, my food was getting cold. These days Mrs. O prays at dinner with the kids (very different from the prayers I heard as a kid ... shorter, but my food is still getting cold!). I just bow my head respectfully & bide my time. If G Hoover wants to know what I'm thinking, then the Bible says He's a reader of hearts, right?
