  changed my mind a bit on the design, still a butterfly though.. it hurt like hell getting it done but was worth all the pain.

  As elders, you have no obligation to reveal information of this type to the authorities.

  I thinketh the law would disagree. Doesn't that make the elders an accesory arter the fact.

  ?committed several murders and crimes before his baptism.?

  Did he come into the organisation with a clean conscience. I don't think so. Should not have been baptised at all.

  Is the WTS a bad "parent"?

  just a thought.

  the wts, along with many groups out there, actively encourages members to take on the role of "children" while setting themselves up as the "parent" or ultimate authority figure.

  like a trusting little kid, members unquestionally accept everything that is told to them as total truth.

  I suppose that's one of the challenges of being a parent. Protecting our kids from those sort of untruths.

  As a parent if my son comes home from anywhere with any kind of story i encourage himm to draw his own conclusion from the facts he knows to be true. No matter where the story comes from, be it school or meetings.

  An honest question...

  let me preface this by saying that what i'm asking is a legitimate question.

  i'm not doubting anyone, or accusing anyone of lying, or being an a-hole (well, no more than usual).

  if you have a legitimate response to my question, please post or pm me, but please do not throw rocks or otherwise abuse me because this is an honest question regarding molestation w/in the jw community.. i was an active jw for 25 years and have continued to be associated with my still-jw friends for ten years since.

  I've heard of a few cases, and personally been involved with one. my son being abused by an unbaptised publisher.

  I don't think it happens any more in the JW religion than any where else. It's unfortunately a worldwide problem that is not bound by race, religion or social status. Just ask the police of your local sexual abuse team.

  What i hate the most is that the Members of the JW have always claimed to be better than others because they don't allow it to happen in their ranks. But I suppose that hapens in all other churches or groups.

  Jehovahs Witness Double Standards

  the society said in past issues of the watchtower that reading "apostate" literature is just as bad as reading pornography,here is where a double standard comes into play.a person can't be disfellowshipped for reading pornography,but can for reading other literature.i don't get that.also they claim that music is a conscience matter,yet how long could a brother or sister listen to a great gospel tape or cd before being disfellowshipped?if a man grew a beard you think that they would be treated well at the kingdom hall?one last thing,if the society wasnt promoting the 1975 date,and never said it,then why were there not loads of disfellowshippings before the failed date for apostasy by promoting a false date?these are just a few of the many double standards that i have observed.god bless you all.

  Like if a decision is a conscience matter then why would the elders get involved in that decision.

  I suppose it's all a part of the mind control.
