  Convention Drama creeps out JWs?

  i am getting news from jws who have attended the district convention that the drama (which is pre-recorded and played to lip-syncing actors) has a demon-possessed woman with a ?demonic voice?.

  can anyone confirm this?

  it is said to be pretty creepy sound effect and many jws are uncomfortable when they hear it.

  I would like to know ,what they are trying to accomplish by scaring the crap out of kids. They are Nuts, i mean it. Those poor kids going home and having nightmares of satan taken them over. Those idiots never fall to amaze me, no wonder they have a high rate of mental problems.

  I had a friend that had to stop reading the bible stoires boo to her kids at night because it gave them nightmares. Scary dramas yuk, I suppose if my kid started to get scared and scream averyone would just took as if it was real cute that they were scared.

  Any one out there been diagnosed with bipolar?

  i've just started being treated for bipolar disorder, used to be called manic depression.

  medication i'm now (lexapro) on seems to be working really well.

  i do worry about how my being bipolar will effect my kids.

  I have a friend here with ADHD with the same problem, the only meds that work for him are not on the subsidy lists here so he can't afford to buy them when he's not working, but can not work without them.

  I feel good

  after a couple of days away from the board and doing some hard thinking and contemplation about my life, and reading (though i'm not done yet and the conclusion may turn out to be a letdown) a fabulously insightful book called the courage to be, a funny thing has happened...i feel as sane, calm, and alive as i've felt in years, maybe ever.

  maybe this is a manic episode or something.

  probably not because i'm not really doing anything productive nor am i making any grandiose plans.

  I have no health insurance

  That's gotta suck.

  One reason I'm glad I live in Australia, healthcare is relatively free.

  Hope you find something that helps and is affordable.

  Have you tried Lexapro, It's what I'm on and works great for me.

  i knew a certain few elders that really got off by "talking down" to the "flock".

  many elders were pretty nice guys but a few could turn----just like that!

  what was your experience with "those taking the lead", the "loving shepherds"???

  Depends on who it was. Some were very sincere, others were assholes.

  Or some were sincere assholes. LOL.

  Well been DF'ed 8 weeks still no call.

  When they DF'ed me I was about to be tested for Bipolar and they said they would check up and see how I went. Still waiting for the call.

  There's usually 1 "tough" elder to balance things out....He's the one that convinced the other 2 to DF and "hey, even if we're wrong, they can come back in 6 months".

  Exactly, it's like there not really sure so they test you by DF'ing you. If they were wrong then you'll immediately come back to all the meetings and reinstate you, If you don't imediately get reinstated then they were right. To bad about the damage it does to you and your family hey! Helllooooo we are actual people not just pawns in a stupid game.

  Thanks Dan,

  I came to this realisation when my marriage was on it's last legs. Had spent my whole life trying to be what others thought I should be, especially my husband. I was talking to my uncle about trying to sort it out and just try an be a better person. He just said to me no, you need to be you and if your husband can't accept that then you will both be miserable. He said I was a beautiful person and needed to go out and find someone who embraced all my qualities and personality traits, good and bad.

  Only then was I able to realise that I liked who I was it was others who had a problem with me, not me with myself.

  Funnily enough my uncle is an elder, go figure.

  Elder Comes To My Mother's House To Inquire of Minimus & Family

  my mom told me yesterday that my friend (while growing up) who is an elder again, (after years of mental problems), came to her house and inquired as to how my family and i are doing.

  he said we have become a subject of conversation at a recent get together..... of course, my mother started crying, told him to ask me himself and told him she did not wish to talk about this subject since it severely depresses her.

  he backed off but shortly asked again.

  I'm so sorry to hear that he upset your mum, Why do they always upset our families when all they want is stuff on us.

  If i were you I'd ring this guy and tell him to leave your mum alone.

  I've never been out of Australia. It's so expensive to get out of here, I've been to most States here though.
