it could also be just human nature in general, or a personality type that was attracted to this religion in the first place.. it seems that several problems on this board just won't die a peaceful death.
My mother is a JW lifer and she will not let things go. . . ever. She will remember what you said 16 years, 3 days, 2 hours and 4 minutes ago. And she will bring it up continually until you are driven insane. Perhaps it is related to her being a JW.

you are aware that i am not present this evening following medical advice from our family doctor.
i will attempt in this letter to give you some idea of why that is and how i feel.
The shock was that my only brother had made a special 900 mile round trip on the Friday to give evidence to the JC. He has always been a hardliner, currently a PO, but this was below the belt on so many levels...our house is less than a mile from the KH and he never knocked our door to see how we were or even to see his only two nephews...shame on him. Also his wife had given written evidence against us. Nice to have family like that. On the Friday I had also seen our friends car outside the KH so I'm satisfied at knowing who actually pulled the trigger.
I am glad you found out about this. My brother went and told the elders about my supposed sin - and he didn't have any proof. I successfully avoided the elders and haven't spoken to my brother in over 5 years. I feel better for it too.

got a call about 11am, debbie was headed to the emergency room.
she'd slipped on some water while chasing the granddaughter in a park.
something had gone "pop" in her leg when she went down.
Ouch! Makes the stomach flu that I have right now not sound as bad.

the colors of the autumn leaves is spectacular this year.
some years half the trees are bare by the time the real color show starts.
this year everything is happening at the ssame time giving us a unbelievable show.

i used to start looking at the clock behind me, look at my watch, look at the speaker or person handling the part and give obvious facial expressions expressing my dissatisfaction.
it was a pet peeve of mine!
a few times when i had the last part in a service meeting, i'd say, rather sternly,"this originally was a 15 minute part but because we are running out of time, we will dispense with (whatever).".
And here I thought it was just me fidgeting with my blood boiling. I would look around and everyone would still be entranced. Maybe they were in a coma - who knows. I am one of the most punctual people you would ever meet -- I cannot tolerate OT at the meetings.
I had an older aunt who would have a fit when the DC would run over and we would have a 20 minute prayer. It was pretty funny.

it's starting to become harder and harder to hang out with witnesses.
all their talk about how evil the world is, etc.
i was at a gathering last night, and this older couple was their talking about how their granddaughter came back because she got a taste of how the world was, her so-called friends were freeloading off her and stealing her stuff.
My fade succeeded when I moved away. I was forgotten.
After about three years I slowly contacted some of the "weak" JW friends that I had. I have found the contact to be good and we rarely ever discuss anything having to do with the religion. That being said, I don't spend a lot of time with these people, but we get together now and then. It allows me to find out what is happening with some of the old JWs I used to know and there is no pressure to return. Not any (so far). So I guess if you pick the right people to hang with, you might just be okay.

i was putting the finishing touches on my wedding plans for tomorrow!
we were married by a j.p. in a country home with a beatiful braided rug, rustic furniture and a big fireplace.
we couldn't afford a honeymoon .

Undecided. I don't believe in "Jehovah God" as the JW's define him, but I do believe we were created by a supreme being. I just don't think "it" is active in our lives now.
