knowing you don't have to get up for saturday service or a sunday meeting, how does that affect your weekend nights?
I guess it depends on the weekend. We were camping this weekend.
However, about two weeks ago me and fiancee got up at 8 and went out to breakfast on a Sunday morning. We drove past a church (not a JW KH) and I saw people going and I felt really good not having to go. A relaxing breakfast in a nice place is SO MUCH better than going to a meeting.

it is getting close to time for me to buy a lawnmower.
when i was growing up and cutting my dad's lawn he always had a self-propelled lawnmower.
i was very lucky in that i never had to use a push-mower.
I know my boyfriend did not want an electric mower. Not exactly sure why, but I think it was because he didn't want to deal with the hassle of an extension cord. If I remember correctly (from when we were shopping last year) electric mowers are cheaper than gas mowers. We a small front lawn and a small back lawn to mow and the gas mower works just fine. I guess it what you prefer.

i have been working at at my current job as a contract worker since feb this year.
for about five years i have been doing contract/consulting work and i've gotten very very tired of the instability, so i started looking for a perm position.. last year, at almost this same time, i got a perm job where my supervisor was a jw... it didn't take very long for me to be "laid off" after he found out i was an ex-jw.
for a few months my supervisor has been talking about hiring me as a perm employee, but nothing was ever certain.

when someone is publicly reproved, what are their limitations in regards to family and friends?

I was privately reproved in the past and it did not affect me one way or the other -- I think I couldn't give talks for a few months (which was a relief). Family and friends did not know and therefore did not treat me differently.
However, if you are publicly reproved, some of the "strong" people in the troof may shy away from you or not invite you to do anything socially (aside from the meetings). They will greet you at the KH, but not associate with your outside of that. But there are no hard and fast rules/restrictions about associating with you.

i took elizabeth to her therapist this morning.
i was able to talk to the therapist and bring her up to speed on nancy and to talk about my concerns.
she said that she is completely aware of the effect the religion is having on the kids.

I am not DF'd nor DA'd -- I just faded. None of my JW family speaks with me. They believe I have done something wrong so they have played judge and jury. I was speaking to one of my parents for a while, but that contact has become non-existent. I have to say it is easier not having to deal with any of them and their judgmental ways. One of my siblings pointed the elders my way trying to get me into trouble. What love they show! *sarcasm intended*
I am not perfect, I have made mistakes and no, I am not living in line with the org -- but I am still a human and my parents flesh and blood. Means nothing to them.
