Marvin, I enjoyed this post and what you say is something I have always felt and even used the example of David and Saul when trying to explain to haughty elders how I felt that there expectations were a conflict with the way my conscience toward felt. Thanky you for your post.

but their work on the former masonic temple at 385 broadway was praised by the commission's executive director, michael wing.. the jehovah's witnesses are cleaning up, repainting and refurbishing the temple in a way that meets their needs for worship but doesn't despoil the building's original intent, said wing.
a large masonic symbol in ornate floor tile has been covered with a circular rug, he said.

I know that property. They had "brothers" from local Halls in our area working on it. They will turn around and sell it for a profit. They get the free labor to do all the work and then the Society sells the property. They did that with the assembly hall up in Monroe, and I heard they were thinking about selling the one in Jersey City. That one is also a historical landmark. The old Stanly Theatre.

I love pumpkin pie, cream of pumpkin soup, gingerbread houses, and home-made eggnog. I love scented candles that smell of white Christmas, and evergreen, I love candles in the windows and white lights and garland on the stairway. I love the Christmas tree lit up at night, and the fireplace that smells of hickory. I love my husband and my family and the beautiful table decorated with turkey,and stuffing,and cranberry sauce with oranges. I love the smell of apple cider with mulled spices on a cold winter day and sipping it in front of the fireplace. I love the sound of songs of Christmas and the Nativity scenes decorating the tables to remind me of the light that Jesus brought into the word. I love the tradition of ice skaters on a mirror and soft faux snow that my grandmother decorated the table with. I love the little villages of winter holiday all lit up to give the feeling of warmth in our dining room as we share time together as a family. I always love these things and missed them so very much when I was a JW and am so happy to be embracing it again with my family. I do not believe the lies Watchtower told of the meaning of Christmas. I now see December 25 as the same day Jesus walked at the Temple during the "Festival of Lights, or Festival of Dedication. When to put up Christmas decorations?

the kids are very keen on having a christmas tree and some decorations.. is there any date these are supposed to go up or are we going to look really silly having it up mid november ?

In our area the Christmas decorations are already going up. The white lights are being seen all over here all year round. Many of the restaraunts are putting up trees and stockings on the fireplaces. Its the time of year lights are just so beautiful, I think I will probably start next week and have some up for Thanksgiving. We are going away to Kennebunkport for a New Enland Thanksgiving with my daughter and son-in-law. My other son and his wife will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner at our house so I would like to put a few decorations around for them. They are all really getting into the Holidays. It has been wonderful.

(((((Ashi))))) Hi, where have you guys been?? haven't heard from you both. Say hi to Mrs. Ashi and tell her I miss her. I was talking to a mail man who used to be in the army about everything going on regarding war with Iraq. He had served in Korea. He said he has been talking to a lot of guys who know they are going over there and they are saying this war is going to be different then the Gulf War. These guys are going over there and will be dealing with a lot of Chemical Weapons. He said many are going to die over there.

Thanks so much for the information on this. I have been looking for this site for quit awhile. When Dateline aired they actually used the information I forwarded them from this site. It is a real eye opener. The public should be made aware of the fearful pictures of their publications. I feel sad that my children had to grow up with these pictures embedded in thier psyche. These pictures should be shown whereever we can to people who don't realize how cruel the WT is in their control over the R&F, and also in thier opinion of the world. Chilling pictures.
