Skeeter, I can just hear her going on like a bull dog on a pork chop on old Teddy Jaracz and all the pedophiles in the WT Organization.

Skeeter, you're right. She really is a bitc on wheels! That's why I get such a kick out of her. Can you just hear her going about WT in behalf of the many victims in Barbara Anderson's CD It would be too funny. WT would hate it that they were being exposed that way.

JWs and the fear of death
by greendawn inthere was a recent thread on whether the wts attracts emotionally disturbed individuals which is unlikely to be the case since so many jws do not fit that description.
later i thought perhaps the wts appeals to people that deep inside have a fear of death which is scientifically called thanatophobia (from the greek word thanatos which means death) an excessive and abnormal fear of death.
what do you think, many jws find it very difficult to come to terms with the inevitability of their (and everyone else's) death and the wts plays with this fear and makes them believe that the end of this world and immortality for the dubs are very near.

Kind of like what Satan said to Eve, " you positively will not die" WT is saying the same thing to
their gullible followers. If you partake of thier spirtitual food you positively will not die, but live forever just like God.

Yeah skeeter, she does get on your nerves but I like the way she goes off on molesters. I heard her one night ranting against the Catholic Church moving Pedophile priests around. I kept thiking how the WT does this and is still doing it and putting out those stupid tracts against churches for covering pedophilia as false religion. I'd love to see Nanchy Grace go off on that tract they put out last year and compare it the cd Barb has about Pedophilia in an American Religion

THE WTS: CRASH OR SLOWLY FADE AWAY?
by Seeker4 ini was just reading the thread about barbara anderson and perhaps some big news she will publish about the wts.
i agree with those who say that anything barbara has scandalous about the early history of the witnesses, ie: russel or rutherford times, will have zero impact.
that whole era is pretty much dismissed by all witnesses i know.

You need something that breaks Witnesses free from the
notion that Jehovah directs the Watchtower.
Metatron, that will never happen, because with their circular thinking Dubs will believe if something big scandalizes the GB they'll just reason that Jehovah is cleaning out from within his so called directed organization and dealing with corrupt leaders as previously in the Bible.

Parallels between Jonestown and WT org?
by skeptic1914 inhow many saw the recent "jonestown-paradise lost" on the history channel?
i realize the suicide/murder of over 900 in jonestown, guyana on novemebr 18, 1978 may be old news but i've always been interested in how cult leaders hold power over their believers.
i've been reluctant to classify jw as a cult but some obvious parallels struck me:.

I like to stop by every now and then and I started reading this thread and felt like jumping in
Yes, I really do believe the WTS is a dangerous cult that will use persuasion through it's literature and kingdom hall meetings to slowly get it's followers to do things that normal people would not think of doing. Even when I left a few years ago, I left because I was expected to do and accept things that went against my nature. I think the pictures that WT puts in its literature says it all when you consider it as a violent cult. The old childrens bible study books had pictures of little girl and puppy dying at God's hand at Armaggedon. The literature I was familiar with had pictures that depicted people being killed by buildings crashing on them, churches burning, and people walking and smiling as it happened, and pictures of monsterlike beasts with big teeth and blood dripping. These pictures, when you think about it, are very influential in persuading people to harden in their attitude towards outsiders and those wanting to leave the religion. It is the WT leadership using these threatening pictures to get the members to obey and fear reprisal from those put in charge of carrying out the letter of the laws imposed by the governing body, who in my mind is the dangerous cult leader like Jim Jones was. They are already expecting the members to view those of us who have chosen to leave as wicked and deserving of death because they have given us a label for members to hate and fear. "Apostates" I was once told by a friend who said I deserved to die because, I was deliberately leaving Jehovah and that nowadays it's against the law to stone apostates to death, so they have to view apostates as deserving death. This attitude could be slowly changed I think to get some believers to carry out some kind of retribution against those leaving them, or those they put out. Shunning is thier way of psychologically giving a death sentence. It makes them feel superior and doing the will of God. It's a little scary when you think about this kind of mentality. Nice to see you all

You Will Know By The Love They Have Among Themselves
by Corvin inthe organization of jehovah's witnesses boasts of having true brotherly love for one another.
i always believed they did, although i never felt it growing up in it.
i reckoned that there was something wrong with me since i never felt that "joy" and "spirit of love" that supposedly permeated the congregations.

After walking away and wanting them to let us alone they felt they had to drag us back go accuse us of things we were not guilty of so that they could formally excommunicate us. Kind of like your working in a company as a really dedicated worker, than suddenly you notice the corporation is extremely corrupt and dealing drugs to the workers, So you qietly quit the job. You don't want to go back ever because there is no good future in it for you. Finally after a month or so you get a phone call from the corporation managers 2 on the phone, but only one admits hes on. He asks you if you are coming back or have you really left. We tell him we left the company because it doesn't pay us what it promised and they are dealing in corrrupt things and we no longer believe the company will give us a future. So the company tells you, but then we must fire you and now that you have been fired no other company members can talk to you. You feel a little confused because this once excellent company has been brazen enough to seek you out after you had already left and got on with your life and suddenly wants you to come back to be fired.
With all that corruption and drugging the members with religiosity, you get the idea you don't want to take this religious mind altering drug with these such loving people who also are addicted to their religiosity. So where is the love? You leave and realize in your heart that you are no longer a person of religiosity, you are a person who has spirituality and you must get away from the jw religiosity and embrace closely the spirituality you have left with.
