JT, I always used to refer to the Theocratic Ministry School and Service Meetings as the "Tuesday nite Sales Meeting". I was interesting that this perception is also shared by others. It is true that the members are worth no more to WT the same as any sales pyramid organization if they are no longer peddling the product. And those of us who have left are a "danger" to them because we expose them for what they really are.
Ranchette, your mom is only worth her statistics that she can publish for this publishing corporation. That is why she is called a publisher. She sells, the goods, pithches the sales pitch, reports her statistics, and has company loyalty. She has placed all her emotional assets into this corporation. It is sad. It is also sad that your dad has chosen to go back to her to save himself rather than because he truly loves her. They sell themselves short while they sell for this WT corporation.

Hi Tally, I agree with you they deserve to go to jail, but I wouldn[t want to see them be go to jail, because it would fire up the R&F to believe they were under persecution and "objects of hatred" on account of his name. I really think I would like the News Media to get a hold of the pictures you posted on the DB. Those pictures of thought control pictures of hate towards the world. They picture a JW type of Bin Laden Holy War with God killing everyone and them smiling as he does it. That is dangerous, David Koresh type teaching to children and terribly damaging emotionially. The News media is ripe for this kind of thinking now. WT Haaaates publicity that exposes them in a negative way that inteferes with their magazine placement. Hit them where the money is. Magazine placements. Bible studies and recruitment of more door to door salesman. If the GB goes to jail, the R&F will be hitting the territories like no tomorrow. My opinion, show the pictures to CNN, Dateline, ABC, and make posters.

When I came home today I heard the news from my husband about the letter from your mom. The harsh words she wrote to you were so like the letters I have been recieving from "friends" who have the WT brand of "love". Really, they are more literally like death threats. Her lanquage to you was so passive agressively abusive, and manipulative, and even emotionally perpetrative. Be glad that you have freed your son from the type of "killing" the Watchtower teaches when it comes to those of us who want to escape from it. The "body bag" illustration was not the words of a grandmother who loves her grandchild in a natural way, and her hits on you and your husband were not the way a mother loves her adult children in natural way. The WT's twisted interpretations have taught the members to have "no natural affection" for one another nor their own children and family members. The teaching that all outside are worthy of destruction at the hands of THEIR GOD is no different then the fundamentalist terrorist Bin Laden. Today I was thinking that all my former friends are basically saying the same thing your mom is, and that they don't fight in wars because they have beaten their swords into plowshears already. But you can bet your butt that when those aircraft carriers fly over (I live near McGuire Airforce Base) they must be glad that protection is given to them so that not more terrorist planes can dive into thier childrens schools. They are enjoying the protection of the superior authorities that God has appointed to be a minister of vengeance against those doing wrong. JW's pride themselves by not lifting up sword against fellow believers all around the world. Well Christians all around the world may not all be law abiding citizens. If a Christian kills another Christian, or a Jew kills another Jew, or if a Catholic, kills another Catholic, and even a JW kills another JW, or for that matter blows up a building and kills countless other people, men, women, and children, then THE SUPERIOR AUTHORITEIES which stand in their relative positions as God's means of justice against those doing wrong, are divinely appointed to punish the criminal or criminals. The WT is twisting scripture. The act at the World Trade Center, was immoral, criminal, unjust, unChristian, unIslam and unEvery other peace loving, Godly way of thinking and worshipping. Who are the JW's to dare say that the prayers going up to God by the Presidant, and all Americans, asking him for help, direction, and wisdom in fighting this enemy tha attacked us in such an unGodly, even demonic way, who is WT to say that God won't use the nations to punish this murderous Terrorist and those who harbor him. Just like the WT harbors pedophiles, and will be judged by the superior authorities for criminal behavior. Your mother forgets that is how God has always operated according to the Bible. Yes, hug your little son and be glad you are a protective good mother breaking the cycle of religious abuse. Let her know you do love her but set your boundary with her and let her know you will not allow her to emotionally black mail you with threats of doom to you and your children, and therefore will no longer accept mail from her. If she wants to talk to you in person, you would love to talk with her but not over her religious view. If she refuses to do that than she is the one who has no natural affection, not you. You might also remind her that her fear of you turning her in is something that is inculcated into JW's, and that THEY are the ones who are more likely to deliver each other up since that is what comes naturally to them which is so unnatural. Stay strong and keep your chin up Ranchette, you are doing fine. If Armeggedon were to come tomorrow, it would be as Jesus said, a totally individual thing. How we treat one another, and all humanity the best way we can, in whatever country we are in, and under any circustance we are in is going to be how we are going to stand before our Maker. Human kindness and compassion for one another is all we should be doing on our journey in this life, because unlike the JW's living their life waiting not to die is living a selfish life. It is very humbling to accect that someday we all will die and end up in a "body bag". Allow yourself to live each day to the fullest enjoying what the Creator meant you to enjoy while being the best with the abilities you were born with, practicing good will towards All people. I hear what you are saying but I am also under the impression that this is also in behalf of those who lost their lives and for the families that were left suffering this tragedy. I know this is being broadcast internationally and it is focusing on the whole issue, including the children who are suffering from predjiduce attacks at school because of being of Middle Eastern race. This telethon is raising money but also raising awareness of what actually happened, the emotions behind what happened, and also a spiritual cry to God through their music. I think it's awsome.

Hi Andi, happy 1 year anniversary. What a wonderful idea to spend it in the City. We were watching the news this morning and the Mayor was asking people to come to New York and spend money to get the economy back on it's feet again. He mentioned it would be a good time to visit because of the lack of crowdedness. So this weekend is our anniversary. 29 glorious years of marital bliss!! My husband made reservations for next weekend and we will be staying at the Essex Hotel. It is a little expensive, but we will have a beautiful view of Central Park, and the Theater district is close to there. We live an hour away and will take the Ferry over from Hoboken. I am really excited. I hope you have a wonderful time.

Obviously God and the Israelites knew they were not "idolizing" a flag. Watchtower uses "idolizing" as a mind congtrol word to inflict unnecessary guilt for the members to feel they are always doing wrong. I remember hearing talks about not letting your children hang posters in thier room of favored rock stars or Tv personalities. This was carried so far that some even believed Mickey Mouse was an Idol to be avoided. Put in perspective, I personally feel that saluting the flag, standing up for it, and singing patriotic songs are acts displaying respect for the representation of our homeland. Like our own home, we love it and want to feel safe and protected in it and would protect our home against thieves and murderers to our family. It is the same with the country we live in. It is the land our children are growing up in, and th land that we worship our God in. There are so many things about our land, like our home, that we take pride in. It is home sweet home when we come back from a visit to another country. I remember a couple of weeks ago coming back from the Bahama's that I felt that even though I enjoyed the vacation, I felt good to be "home". I don't "worship" my country, that I call home, and I don't "worship" the representation of the emblem or banner. It is the same with flags of decorative pictures some hang in front of thier house. My husband had at one time wanted to put a banner with a picture of a labradore retriever on it. We have two labs and this is a representative a the breed we have and love. But certainly we do not "worship" the dog. I think, like the Psalms brings out about the Israelites carrying thier banner, human beings tend to want to "symbolize" their things that are dear to them. I am really looking at this in a new perspective after being a JW for 30 years. It is a good feeling to use my conscience in a personal way now. My conscience doesn't move me to avoid the flag. Yet, their was an incident that occured between us and our neighbor. Their 2 Jack Russell Terriers came in our yard and literally ripped apart and killed our beloved cat we had for 22 years. There was blood all over the back yard where we found him. It was horrible and for weeks and months following, I had fantasies of harming these two dogs for what they had done to our beloved cat. I imagined all kinds of ways to harm them. Poison, drowning, catching and dumping them far away. But after thinking such thought and wanting to do them, I would realize that my conscience would never ever allow me to take an action like that and would never want to answer to God for that action against one of his creatures.(even though I hate the damned dogs). It just feels so good to have that freedom now to excersize my own conscience without the stupid WT deciding what is good and bad. I know in my deep down gut what seems not ok with God. I don't think he cares about a flag, but how our actions towards others of his creation are what counts. Well, I've rambled too much. I may go out and buy a flag, if I can get the JW scare messages out of my brain:)

Hi Tally, the pictures are chilling and always when I would view these pictures I would ask myself how could anyone smile at the destruction portrayed here. I would always justify it in my mind by remembering the scriptures about the meek and blameless ones would be left over in the earth. This is what I would always tell my children when they were little if they asked me if thier friends who were not JW's be "destroyed". I look back on this and it is all so sick. I know there were a lot of parents that frightened thier children by constantly showing those pictures to them and telling them they "would be put in prison during persecution" and they may "have to eat rats" because there would be no food to eat,and "they would be beaten some to death for being JW's. I never thought it was right to scare children that way. But the Watchtower encourages parents to do this to thier children. Yes, I believe that with everything happening now with the WTC Tragedy, I can absolutely picture the Society giving somehow the implied perminssion to "kill" apostates. Already, I have gotten threatening mail telling me I deserve to die the way the ancient Israelites did in Moses day, like Korah, for not taking direction from "jehovah's visible representatives here on earth". These letters were written by individuals whom I had long considered close friends, and family. They do not know jesus law of love, and therefore I believe that it is THEY, who have no natural affection, and would deliver anyone up to death believing they are doing it for thier god. Truly this kind of thinking is identical to that of the terrorist who actually believed they were validated by thier religous belief. Does anyone else feel this way?
