I never understood the WT teachings against cannonizing saints. Don't they do the same thing with the 144000

Awake! says we can pray in Jesus' name!!!
by Leolaia inaccording to this, jesus is not just the mediator of the 144,000 -- he's the mediator of mankind!!
and apparently "dear jesus" prayers are okay!
the watch tower says i can say, "dear jesus, you are my mediator as you are for all mankind..." "the bible clearly says that jesus christ is mankind's redeemer, so he is mankind's mediator.

CALL TO ACTION: Write the United Nations!
by seattleniceguy inmost of us are familiar with the watchtower bible and tract society's association with the un as an ngo.
this fact has been confirmed via correspondence with the un numerous times, notably in a letter received recently by one of our own members.
for details and photocopies, see here:.

Maybe some pictures from WT publications that depict govnment builldings and churches being burned and blown up will open their eyes to Watchtowers real thoughts towards them.

Answering the WTS: Why are So Many Angry at the Watchtower?
by metatron inas in a recent issue, the watchtower loves to portray its critics as "apostates" and further label them as bad people who simply.
want to draw away faithful witnesses because of their own irrational hatred of the "truth".. .
but just how true is this proposition?.

Skally, I think the WT gets away with fraud because it is such a closed society. The government is not so quick to come after religions even those who preach hatred. It is because they are protected by the first amendment and they pervert this to their advantage, these religions who fight for freedom of speech and freedom of conscience. They get away with much harm and abuse of thier members by demanding their first amendment right. No religion should be given the right to harm their members with thier teachings. The children raised in these hate religions are harmed emotionally and spiritually.

Silence, thank you for sharing your feelings about Christmas. Your ambivilance about celebrating Christmas is understandable being a JW for so many years and listening to thier twist on it's meaning. I have done a little research and found some interesting points of view that conflict with WT thinking. The one I found most interesting was the fact that Hannakah and Christmas have special biblical significance in regard to December 25. For your pleasure, I will post the hyperlinks here.

For fun list how you feel Watchtower is the Anti-Christ
by ARoarer inon studying the bible in the past and learning watchtower's definitions of false doctrine, i have been able to reason now when i compare these teachings to be anti christian.
i read another post that listed all of their articles that make the "trinity" of jehovah, his word and the organiztion.
after viewing the articles listed it made me feel how against christ they really are, even though they give lip service to him.

The Watcthower has made itself into a fat golden cow for everyone to bow to. They have no respect for Christlike teachings of love. They have abandoned the mediator and dance around thier own Watchtower god.
The elders who believe they should be the glorious ones have brought in this false teaching and in doing so they themselves have spoken abusively of the angels

Will Power, what you say is so true. I guess I was fortunate to have been able to listen to the warning voice inside that questioned the very morality of what Watchtower expects it's members to do in the name of religion. Ya know when you think about it, so much evil is one to other human beings in the name of religious fanatacism. To harm one physically, emotionally and or spiritually because you actually believe you are pleasing the Creator. I often wonder if Satan uses all organized religion to cause harm with man. I have been able to live my life using my own human condition to know what is wrong and harmful. I don't need a religion to enforce it. Basic Christian kindness and integrity toward other human beings is an unspoken contract that I think God gives as we make our way on this earth. It is so simple.
Getting back to the topic, I think another way that Watchtower is anti-christ is that they don't follow what Christ said about love and taking care of orphans and widows. Christendom does.

Winston, I also stopped Pioneering when I could no longer agree with what I was expected to teach others. This was such a difficult time in my life because I had actually been feeling like I was"losing my identity" for several months leading up to it and after stopping meetings altogether. Looking back on it now, and going through therapy I have come to realize that the "identity" I felt like I was losing was a sorto of psuedo personality that develops when one comes into a mind and thought controlling cult. My therapist told me that I came into the Jehovah Witness religion with my own personal values and integrity, and I was able to leave them when they no longer lived up to my values. That is so true.

facts about the JW religion
by Dawn ini'm putting together a brochure for release in my area - to local churches and bookstores.
on the first panel i want to explain to the reader why the jw religion is not a "harmless" little church.
so i decided to list in bullet format a few facts that the average person may not be aware of.. for example, bullet 1 will be information on the number of children who have died because of refusing blood (any ideas where i can find exact numbers??).

Dawn, you might want to incorporated in your booklet the horrific pictures of burning churches, and crumbling buildings, and children dying, beasts with blood dripping from thier mouths, and the pictures of intolerance of other religions. I was always embarrased by these pictures and tried to explain them away when my young children would ask about them or be frightened. You may raise the question of the !st Amendment protecting religion that mentally and spiritually harms it's members and thier children in these cultish fear tactics.

Elsewhere, they have an answer for that too. They use the apostle imperfections to explain away thier own. They put themselves on that level.
But if you use that arguement, then it must apply to other religions of Christendom. They are imperfect men who make mistakes.
