It is something most sisters will never get to do (though I have heard of some congregations that have sisters handle the mikes, never verified it though).

I have seen this happen. In the Nashua, NH congregation the PO decided to send a message to the brothers. It seems that the PO was not happy with the "example" the brothers were putting forward with meeting attendance and field ministry hours, so he had his daughter carry the mics for one Watchtower study. It whipped those boys right into shape!

By the way...we have to give credit where credit is due. One of the greatest tricks the WTBS has pulled off is getting so much out of people for free. Not only that, the frenzy they create by making it a "priviledge" is astounding! Like Corvin...I too fear I was mic weanie. ughghghghgh...makes me want to hurl.

WTS law and oral law

has the wts commited the same folly as the writers of the oral law?

in a magazine some years ago there was an article on the oral law.

it discribed how the oral law was developed to be like a fence around the writen law to prevent ppl from breaking the writen law.the article showed how the priests, who invented the law ,were laying a burden on jehovahs ppl that the didnt need ,sort of saying how wrong and misdirected the priests were.

Tell your brother to take his privalege back IF HE WANTS THEM. It is sad how lazy or stupid JWs are they do things for no reason. Elders are not "clergy so they don't out rank a baptised person they are just a legal firewall to protect the watchtower.

It is interesting that you would state the above. If you have done any reading at all in this forum it should be obvious to you that many here doubted, not because of the "spirit of the world", but rather because of the poisionous spirit of the WTBS while they were deeply dedicated JW's. Doubts were then confirmed by the lack of love and the hypocritical stance that the Society has taken on issues too numerous to mention.

Just because we do not accept the spewing garbage that the WTBS puts forth does not mean that people here have no purpose in life. Our purpose just doesn't include gullibilty to the exclusion of all reason.

The "tree" (WTBS) is rotten Theocrat. A rotten tree cannot produce good fruit. But you keep right along believing if that helps you...we have just chosen to educate ourselves and stop putting blinders on. Think for yourself without the rose colored WTBS glasses on. It just might make you a happier person who does not feel the need to "adjust" everyone.

on may 7th 2004 at 8:00 pm (est) dateline will air a 2 hour special on cults, and be featuring some survivors, as well as steven hassan, and bob and judy pardon.

set you vcr's, as this indepth cultbuster show will undoubtedly be very interesting.

this is not a jw specific show, but will include jw's, as i am told..

hello to all on this website.

a brief intro...i am 30, was df'd at 26 (on my b-day no less) should have been df'd a long time ago.

i have no complaints about being out of the organization now, however the initial shock going through the loss of friends and family took some time to get over.
