"Only prisons have Watchtowers"
I love it Danny! Too true...
there have been posts and topics about the wtbs imploding and feuding factions in bethel etc.
some have said that the end is near for the wtbs.
is this just wishful thinking...or do you really think that this is a reality?

ive been logging on to the website for awhile but have only been reading.today ive decided to extend my hello to all of you and to thank you for helping me out in confirming a decison i shouldve made years ago.
i left the j-dubs last august (by fading) and i feel so much happier in my life.
i can say bless you when someone sneezes, i can go to a birthday party, put a x-mas tree up, and have sex guilt free .
Welcome to the forum Betty.
silly me i know but those ridiculous thoughts sometimes still torture me.
Those "ridiculous thoughts" tortured us all and some still find those thoughts difficult to shake. The more reading that you do about the hypocrisy that the Org has demonstrated in so many areas, the less those thoughts will invade. It took me 5 years before I stopped wondering about whether the Society "had it right". The fear that was instilled in all of us had an impact and it just takes time to de-program ourselves. Why do you think I spent over 35 years in the Org? Trust your instincts. Regards.

Am I selfish for hoping the WTBTS doesn't make a gradual smooth change in which they can abbandon their falsehood without causing too much of a stir, and fit in with mainstream christianity? I hope they don't! I hope they fall flat on their life destroying asses.....that's what I hope!
Gumby,
I guess that is why I started the discussion in the first place, because I also wish they would fall flat. Alas, I think that it is just wishful thinking, but we can always hope.
the apostates over at e-watchman's forum are dillusional .
first class spiritual nutjobs, if you will.
we know they do not consider themselves to be apostate, but they believe they will do the most good by staying in the organization so that when the foundations of the society are shaken, and they believe it will happen soon, they will be there to aid and comfort the jw's who don't know what to do or where to go.
I would probably be somewhat less harsh and call that "transitional thinking".
Narkissos,
I see your point, and I agree that what they are probably experiencing is transitional thinking, but it still does not change the fact that the Society considers that apostasy. I think that was the point that Corvin was making. They can wish for reform and they can call it what they like, whether transitional thinking or "New Wave", but they still are apostates, according to the Org, and they are fooling themselves. They look down upon the people on this board as being apostate and evil (look up Corvin's posts on E-Watchman under Corvinus) and they consider their position somehow better, or superior, and yet they are guilty of the very same thing...they disagree with the Society. That is an apostate no matter how you slice it and no matter what you call yourself.

man, i'm really looking forward to the new potter!!!.
i mean, i'm reaaallllllly looking forward to it!!!
i can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Definitely excited! My kids are in their 20's and out of the house and it is still family tradition to get together and watch Harry Potter in the theater together.
The trailer for the movie is really creepy, especially with the Death Eaters. I hope the movie is as good as the trailer.
as witnesses, we believed that for a thousand years in the new system ....life would be grand.
at the termination of the thousand year rule of jesus, we learned satan would be let loose and many paradise dwellers would follow him.
why do you suppose the majority of mankind who had no satan or demons to influence them, would want to follow a wicked wiley snake who already got his arse kicked twice now already from god for rebelling.
Many of them believe there will be no sex in the "new system"?.
Really?????? Are you sure? Damn...if I had known that was being taught I could have saved myself years of torture and boredom and left a long time ago. Where do they get this stuff?

Gumby,
It was recently mentioned in a thread that the Service Department and Writing Department were at odds (if I remember the thread correctly).
i can?t believe it?s going to be 30 years.
june 1974 was the year i really dedicated myself to jehovah.
because, although i had been baptized two years before, it was this moment in time that i really saw the love and power of jehovah?s organization.
Great compilation Ezekiel3.
This sad, sad monologue seems like it could've been written by a million different witnesses, some of whom, I am related to. They've written off this life. It's over, if only because the WT says so. They're as lost to me as I seem to them.
Well said hybridous. That's how you know that it is an accurate rendition...regardless of our background or nationality, we all recognize the speech and the thought patterns. We have all probably heard similar sentiments.
Example: One of my JW relatives has been poor her whole life, has had all of her kids leave the Org, her unbelieving husband has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy and they might lose their house so that they can pay for the medical bills, and she is experiencing extreme depression and has been breaking down sobbing repeatedly (and understandably)...just stated that she is not worried, "Jehovah has always provided" for her...huh??????

I appreciate all of the feedback. When I read posts of people from all around the world, it does seem as though things are crumbling, but the WTBS is masterful at the art of deception and putting a veil in front of the rank and file's eyes. The WTBS seems to be prospering monetarily, although I do wonder about how much money they lose through lawsuits.
OhioCowboy: You make a good point. How successful can an organization be that boasts only 6 million people?
It would be funny if the "Time Of The End" was a self fulfilling prophecy culminating with the demise of the WTBS during the 1914 "generation" time period. At least they could get one prophecy right if it came to pass!

That is the problem the watchtower says it is not the FDS the anointed are. E-watchman is anointed and acording to wt definition the FDS.
That's the point XQ. E-Watchman, anointed or not, is an apostate by definition from the FDS. He is not following the "spiritual direction" of the FDS "Class". Where would the scriptural support be by e-watchman that reform is part of the solution? How can a person subscribe to the doctrine of JW's, and yet work against it at the same time? How would one explain the circular reasoning? If they are going to claim to be "in the Truth" then they have to apply the doctrine of "the Truth" which eliminates any contrary thought to the Org. They are apostates. It gives me a headache just to repeat the circular reasoning. It's stupidity at it's finest. Corvin said it best: Nutjobs...
