Carlin sure knows how to take the knife and slice off a piece of truth, doesn't he? That was great stuff...thanks.

the best fun i've had at one of these ever!

You can lead a horse to water...but you can't make him drink. It is extremely frustrating though, isn't it? Wouldn't it be wonderful to have 6 milllion people assume that you had good and benevolent reasons for everything that you did? Unfortunately, the opposite is true...the Dubs always assume the worst when the rest of us are concerned.

how many times did you hear that before you were baptized?
i got a little tired of it when someone called me and said that.
this was the first sign of the control thing.
I responded with I didn't miss you, and no at home i can put my feet up, not wear a tie, have a cup of coffee and if i heard something on the radio or tv that bored me i could turn it off and also that i didn't have to talk with any fake people. He wondered away mumbling to himself and has never spoken to me when he sees me somewhere ever again. Thank God for that.
Wow! Buffalos are really free aren't they? You really "bulled him over" buffalosrfree! I bet he still has the hoof marks on his forehead...good job.

i know its stupid of me to post a new topic when i haven't finished reading my first thread, but i wanted to know stuff about any current jws that may be here.
you don't need to reply if you want to tell me off or say something o/t.
you can use my first thread for that, since that thread is more general.
I guess my-journey has left...I would feel bad about my post above, but all indications point to a departure prior to my post... I guess from all of the Organization's bad treatment she/he has her/his "back up" and is a little too sensitive.

yep, steph .

Pope,
I went on to look for it and couldn't find it...what is the title?

so I called her bluff and, with my most genuine, concerned expression on my face, said, "Oh, that's right, you've been away for a little while now. Are you doing ok?".
Now that is a masterpiece of the highest degree carefully faded. I used to get so taken aback by the rude comments that I could never think that quick. I would always wish I had said something like that, but just couldn't get it out of my mouth. Of course now is a different story...

court cases revive childbirth rights debate.
i saw this article and it got me to thinking.. which can be dangerous at times.
but, this is a situation that would affect women and families terribly.
Xandria,
It is quite frightening, and maddening, to have medical rights and decisions ripped away. Years ago, when my wife was pregnant, we found out that caesarians were being performed at a record rate in our state. We were told that this was because the doctors wanted to control when the births occurred so they could schedule them during normal business hours. Many woman at that time were scheduled for inducement as well. Of course the party line was that it was for the good of mother and baby. Fortunately my wife had an OB/GYN who was married to a midwife, so his views were completely pro natural labor and delivery and she delivered naturally. But if we had chosen the wrong doctor I think we would have had a battle, because my wife was carrying twins.
She got so much pressure, that she nearly walked out of the hospital. Only after she threatened to leave did they relent.
Your sister is very brave. I have never heard of that, but I am tucking that one away. My daughter is due late July, early August.
