A different kind of "trip".

hi, folks,.

for many years my immediate family and i have been messing with stinging insects of all kinds.

in fall (when they are most active), our phones about ring off the hook.

That is so neat LoneWolf!!! We have a few YJ's that hang out in our back yard. We put out fresh water daily for all of the Animals and other critters that come by, and there is one YJ in particular that comes when we are changing the water. I think he guards it. He flies around while we are cleaning the water trough and when we are done he flies straight over and drinks the water, then goes on his merry way until he is thirsty again. We see him quite often, and whenever we go near the water, he comes flying to see what is going on. Happily, he doesn't try to sting us. Maybe he knows that we are only there to provide water and that we aren't a threat.

Approximately how many YJ's make up a pound? I imagine it would have to be at least a few thousand?

i really am... just been attacked for posting on a dog rescue picture.

the dog was in a rta and as i was eating my dinner and couldn't see the pictures, heading or comments regarding the dog properly i posted that it could be ''dog bait injuries''... which in the area i live is a nasty problem which is rearing it's ugly head.

dogs are being stolen from back gardens to be used as bait.

You are very right, Watersprout, we have all been through so much dealing with the watchtower that we should be encouraging each other rather than following people around being petty and trying to make others miserable. We are all in this together!!!

I feel sorry for the young lady. That is far beyond "discipline". I got it worse than that sometimes, and I know others who got it with a fist instead of the belt, so the video didn't really surprise or shock me that a parent could be so cruel. No child should ever be beaten like that. What the father did was very wrong, especially when the girl was mentally disabled. The father should pay for his abuse, as should all parents who beat their children without self control.

Is homosexuality ever justifiable? I say YES!!!

in the january 2012 awake, pages 28-29 there is another article about homosexuality.. .

the writers argue that genetics, the environment, and sexual abuse do not justify homosexuality.

the bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong and is an abhorrent sin.

Timothy, You are doing a wonderful job with your threads! They are nice, thought out, and well written. Remember though that we are only about 10% of the population, so there are many more straight people here than Gay ones like ourselves. As long as things are kept clean, no one should have an issue with these threads, as they are valuable to us Gays and Lesbians, and help promote our healing. I think that many people don't realize what it is like for a Gay person in the Org. As far as the Watchtower is concerned we are among the lowest of the low, so any encouragement we can get from each other is a true blessing.

To those who are complaining about this being the sixth thread in two weeks, if you don't like it, don't read it. Simple. 99.9 of the other threads out there are geared for you. Please let us have our few threads that help us feel wanted and accepted. It is somethng that we NEED to help us heal.

If that many people are upset, maybe Simon can have a separate category for issues dealing with LGTB issues, as he has done in the past for politics, etc. But again, if you don't like the thread, don't go to it. No one is forcing you to be here.

Thank you again Timothy! Your excitement and enthusiasm are very encouraging. I know this is all somewhat new to you, and I commend you for taking what could have been a very negative experience, and making it positive! Some of us can learn a lot from your good attitude!

Please don't leave Timothy. Too many Gay people have been chased away from here over the years. Don't let the naysayers get under your skin. The board needs honest, caring, and smart people like you!

i had no plans to turn up to the court hearing as an observer, as in my experience, it can take several hearings and a number of months before any court case gets rolling.

Digital Kitchen scale, gram accuracy. Really?

i only have 2 cups of coffe a day but insist that it's fresh and strong.

i pour the hot water thru a coffee-filled #2 cone filter held in a ceramic holder, a lid on top to keep things hot for the 1 3/4 minute it takes to go through.

Even thought the tare is automatically adjusted, there should still be a tare reset somewhere on the scale for things that you are describing. I use an electronic gram scale for Gold and Silver and have never had any problems. I do however have to reset the tare when I add a separate dish to collect the PM's so that it compensates for it. Check the instructions for your scale.

Cofty has a great suggestion too! I always tap mine a couple of times to make sure the values end up the same as a safety measure.
