She doesn't even look real! She definitely has an obsession with tanning. When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, I would see a lot of retirees who were big into tanning. Some of the extreme ones had skin that looked like wrinkled leather, yet they would still either be at the beach or a tanning salon every chance they got. I'm surprised that some of them hadn't collapsed into a pile of dust! The saddest part was that they really thought that they looked good that way.

Were you surpised how little the "world" new about JW's after you left?
by donny ini have been out of the jw organization for some time now and have been fairly active in discussing my adventures in watchtower with those who are interested.
what really surprised me in the first few years after leaving was how little the "world" knew about jw's.
we were taught that we have been warning the unwashed for 100+ years and they resist the message because satan keeps them from grasping this "good news".. in the many discussions i have had with these folks since leaving, it is amazing how little or no understanding about jw's beyond the blood issue and holidays they have.

I too was surprised about how little others in the "World" knew about JW's. Most only seemed to know the basics like not celebrating holidays, and no blood. It seems that most people could care less about them.
JW's are a legend in their own minds...

A JWN Member just lost her Husband and She could use some encouragement.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

That was a very interesting article! I can't say for sure, but I personally feel that he may have had latent homosexual feelings that came out (pun intended) after his stroke. He says that there is a lot that he can't remember from before his stroke, so maybe he forgot that he had some homosexual tendencies, even though he considered himself Straight. It will be interesting to see future studies of this. It may shed more light on Human sexuality in general.
I have read stories of Stroke victims who were never musically inclined, who, after a stroke all of a sudden sit down at a piano and play as if they had years of experience. The brain is an incredible thing, and there is no telling what secrets get unlocked when it is affected through a trauma, stroke or some other stimuli.
I am glad that the young man appears to have healed fairly well from something that has devastated many others.
