Secret Santa 2007 (forum gift exchange !!)

for those that are new we have done this for the last few years, what it involves is that those who want to join in will post to this thread and then pm me their name and address.
i will then collate the names and addresses and assign everyone a person to buy a gift for.

When it's someone you took pains to be kind to under similar circumstances and they act so ignorant it really is a double blow. But I think the whole shunning thing becomes just a public display for them to inflict pain or try to hurt others. SInce she was with 'friends' they no doubt had to make it seem like a really big display. Then there are people who are just cruel at heart and the borg gives them an "Out" for their hateful ways.

What does your city/town smell like??
by horrible life inwhile on vacation, we drove through amarillo.
the smell of cattle was everywhere.
for the citizens of amarillo, texas, that is the smell of money.. in my town, we have the nearby paper mill, weyerhaeuser.

There is a plant here that makes animal feed or a supplement to animal feed it smells sort of like nearly burned sweet potatoes to me, not really offensive most of the time, And there is a cracker factory here which once in while you can catch a wift of brown sugar. But my favorite is the honeysuckle which is seasonal of course.
Openfireglass: Is this harvest time for all of the US?? I live in SE Oklahoma, and we grow a large crop.
My husband once told me, that the whole town benefited from the crop. I begged to differ. Then he told me, when the crop came in, husband would buy his wife a new dress at the clothing store. Time to get that tooth fixed. They go to Walmart to get the kids new shoes. etc.....
I have an uncle <> by marriage hehe)) years ago tried to tell me the same thing about his families crops except his deal was the boys buy cigarettes at the local store and pop for the kids and fuel etc.....Thing is they are really super close to where you live. (How embarassing). Oh but they swear they no longer do that!!

My granddaughter 5 mos old passed away today...

Taking someone else's medicine......
by lisavegas420 ini know it's never a good idea to take a prescription that has been prescribed for someone else, but this was totally an accident.
every morning for the past 15 years or so, my husband sets out vitamins for both of us.
these cocktail of pills have changed over the years depending on what i've been reading and have diagnosed that we need.

New grandkid
by animal inwe are expecting the second grandkid next week, on 8-3... planned c-section.
my job is to watch our first one until all is done then take him in to meet his new sister.
he is 1 1/2, and my buddy.. well, i just got a call that my son thinks her water just broke.

Grandkids will change you a bit.
What did you like better, children, or grandchildren? Or are they all great to have?My pat. answer for this question, I love 'em both but grandchildren make me appreciate not strangling their parent when it was a teen-ager. I have two grand aughters.
